Agreed, that's rubbish, and ridiculous. But at least they've given you the steps needed to change the situation - there's hope!

Will just do as they say, there’s not much point in being annoyed about it I guess 🙄
I took ds1 to the cinema today with my pass and a free ticket they gave me due to lockdown, we saw unhinged which was not that great, but it killed some time! All ironing done, but behind with the washing due to the weather lately. Scraping by with the reduced budget again this month, even though I bought two platters that I shouldn’t have 😬 but saying that a Lowe budget is always easy in the short term it’s the long term which can make things challenging, more reason for us to go for it clearing the factory mortgage ASAP 😁Good things today:- Cinema with ds1
- Being given a Beatles hits cd from one of the guys at work who didn't want it
- Dh has booked a few days off from the end of next week
- York flat is free so we could go there if we wanted to for his birthday
MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁5 -
A birthday treat away might be just the cheap break you need before tackling the mortgage provider requests! Certainly don't make things easy any more do they.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!4

They are probably being even more cautious due to the current situation. Fingers crossed that it'll work out.

Thanks Cath and killerpeaty 🙂
Not much to report, dh was at work today (his own work not for the boss!) I popped out to get him some chocolates as it’s our anniversary tomorrow, also bought him a new tray as ours has mysteriously disappeared and he can have dinner in front of the tv again sometimes, £6 spent in total.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁5 -
Well dh has got up and gone to a boot sale, I have no idea why and it’s our anniversary and we were going to the garden centre for tea and toast, he better be back relatively early or I will not be happy!Today’s plans are to pop to said garden centre and then cook a casserole for ds1 and dh, then probably laze about and watch Netflix. I was hoping to go to the cinema but there is nothing in except Jurassic park (which I love) but it’s only in 4DX which has a £5 supplement, no thanks 😬
Will go through the finances today too I think, it’s tricky as I’m in control of the home stuff and dh the work stuff, he does still run a tiny bit of work through the company that owns the factory building still (our old company in other words) and can be a bit vague. He says he should be able to pay £7k off the factory mortgage in October so I guess I just work with that.I guess after looking at the accounts we will decide if we can go to York or not, in these tough times even the diesel money is a big consideration. I’m sure I am repeating myself but I’m so glad I don’t drink anymore as I’ve no idea how I could justify the cost, and a trip away would mean a lot of stop offs in bar for a glass of wine 😆MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁6 -
Happy anniversary NG! Fingers crossed you can get your break in York 🙂Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.
Starting Mortgage Balance (June 2019) £72,000.
Aiming to be mortgage free by my 40th birthday, June 2026!6 -
Happy anniversary 🎂 Maybe DH has gone to the boot sale to buy you a lovely present??? I'm sure you've explained this before, but just wondering why the £7k couldn't be paid off the house mortgage to prove a point to the bank? Is it because the money is coming from the business? York trip sounds like it would be just what you need, do you still have the electric van? That might mean some stops on the way, but what's more romantic than an amble round a motorway services?Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)
