Happy anniversary NG! The trip to the boot sale is intriguing - I hope he brought you an excellent present back!
Can totally see where you’re coming from re fuel to York. It’s a tricky one. But if you can find a way, it might be really beneficial to have a break and change of scene and some space to talk to DH more about stuff. (And pin him down on the £7k figure!)
Have a lovely day!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Thanks for the kind wishes everybody, he came back from the boot sale pretty early with a lovely bunch of flowers (and they were cheap as he knows I’d be cross if they were not 😆) then we went and had breakfast at the garden centre, £15 including drinks as it was on offer. Then popped to dec@thlon and bought three fleeces for me £13.97 for all three, should see me through a winter with a lot of time at home alone with no heating on during the day 🥶Off to check the finances now, probably should have been done before I bought the fleeces really 😬
The £7k SC is going off the factory mortgage as we are throwing everything and the kitchen sink at that for now in the hope it will be cleared sometime early next year, then we can up our income with the rent 🙂MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁6 -
Hope you're enjoying your anniversary!
The fleeces sound like a good buy to be honest, being warm is most important!4 -
Not sure what’s happened to me in lockdown really, last year I was buying Z@ra dresses, this year it’s dec@thlon fleeces 😆I’ve checked the accounts and all is ok, all the furlough money I’m getting will go in the factory mortgage pot so we are already now on our future 40% odd lower budget. I’ve gone over a bit on the monthly budget for August and we still have over a week to go 😱 I’ve a surplus of £123 but I’ve a busy week meeting two friends for coffee on separate days and I’m taking dd out tomorrow for half price cost@, it may seem excessive this week but getting out again is helping me feel a lot less stressed out. So a small budget for groceries and perhaps a few more birthday bits for dh next week.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁6

Glad to see you are getting going on your business plans. must be reassuring if all accounts are ok on a 40% less budget

Hi mfd’s , we are very lucky that we are managing ok on less, it’s really the mortgages that are suffering with less money rather than us so far, it certainly makes me appreciate what we had before though 😱Bought a couple cheap items today in a high street store to strip down and use for making stuff for the Etsy shop, way cheaper than I can source which is crazy really. I can get better quality in bulk but at a much higher cost, it feels wrong but the whole idea was to make the products for a lower price so reaching a bigger customer base.
So £17 spent including birthday cards and banners/badges/balloons for ds2’s girlfriends 21st in a few weeks as well as dhs birthday next week. Anyway far more exciting than that is my fabulous flask purchase. I’ve been after an old fashioned large glass one with the plastic cups, but they are mostly the steel trendy ones then today I spotted a beauty in asd@ a 1.8L monster for just £8. When I washed it at home I even found a secret sugar compartment in the white screw top lid, amazing 😊 I don’t take sugar but even so!So I’m planning a few trips with the flask now, the first being the zoo as a birthday day out for ds2’s girlfriend, then hopefully an evening out at Bedgebury Pinetum before Xmas, will try and add a link if if I can, looks great though 🌲🌲🌲🌲MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁6 -
