Went out for a walk again today , this time with best friend who is out and about as usual and thinks I’m a bit bonkers 😆
Iceland delivery came and a fair chunk was missing from it , but crucially the tea bags and crisps arrived 👍 work tomorrow and the c world has not even been mentioned by the new boss yet, all seems a bit casual really. I’m not very confident of some of the men in the factory’s hygiene habits either 😱.

I hope yesterday’s announcements force your new boss to reconsider!
London was indeed very 28 Days Later on Sunday (also love that I hate scary films but knew exactly what you meant by that!)

Hi mfd’s hope you are ok 🙂
Hi Vix, dh managed to get in touch with him yesterday and him and the owner are thinking what they can do but all their business’s will be open, should know more at the end of the week. For us it’s not as bad as it would have been years ago when in debt and overdrawn as we have a bit in the offset but I know most of the other guys may struggle along with the rest of the country if they don’t get paid 😱
Got a bit of food last night and finished the Easter egg buying , crucial at this point in time I’m sure 😆 The massive tesc@ was a sad sight, I did however time it as they were unpacking a couple of huge pallets of baked beans, and they were the branded ones that ds1 loves. He’s been baked bean deficient for a while now as they are like gold dust, they make up 50% of his diet (other 50% is pot noodle) Four tins bought but 85p each 😏
I am now a shareholder in the business that basically just owns the factory, I’ve not many shares but it’s allowed dh to pay us both out £2k each. It’s to be lent back to the company and paid off the factory mortgage, but for now due to circumstances I think it’s best of it sits in the offset pot for a few months as
everything is so uncertain and who knows if the company will survive and even if it does if we will both still have jobs! Not sure how I will work out and update mfw figures this year as everything is flipped to the factory mortgage including January’s payment that’s already in my personal mortgage figures. Will have to think on this and work out what to do.Hope everybody is ok 🙂MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁6 -

Sounds wise to keep hold of that money, things are so uncertain aren't they. We are okay for food at the moment apart from a few random missing bits but I'm dreading when we run out and need to replenish as the supermarkets are bare. Think i'll be using local shops and paying a premium for a while. Hopefully reducing opening hours in the supermarkets will allow them to re-fill the shelves.

I agree with Cath - wise move to keep hold of the cash for now (as I'll be doing for a while). I did notice that there's rather a lot of Easter eggs in the supermarkets still - apparently no one is yet so desperate that they're resorting to an entirely chocolate diet!
Cath, I wouldn't bet on the local shops - my local Coop is looking pretty bare in parts and has signs limiting you to two of each item. I'm hoping that once everyone has stocked up enough they'll stop constantly buying and a bit of common sense will reappear. It is tricky - if they're telling you that your whole household needs to self-isolate for 2 weeks if someone shows symptoms then people will want to get the food in for that situation to some extent. So it's not surprising (the toilet roll is - it's not a diarrhoea epidemic!)

Hi Cath and Vix, good luck getting what you need 🙂It’s all getting a bit close now 😱 went to the shops again today to get what I could for the kids partners house as they have been there all week, dad doesn’t stock up really and I’m concerned their plan of Uber eats is not a great longer term one 😆 weird purchases again I wouldn’t usually buy but they have food and staples from home. No cleaning/washing/pet stuff as well as most food and drink now.
I did ring my parents before I left work as my brother had said they are worried about getting low on food and dad was very happy as they were desperate for ..... coriander 😂 clearly all one needs for survival!Work situation so depressing I shan’t bother moaning about it, meeting on Friday to decide what will happen. Ds2 is asthmatic and should really isolate for 12 weeks 🙁 plus much sympathy today for best friend who is about to be home with three boys for months on end, I really feel for all those in this situation!Back tomorrow with a wonderful happy uplifting post when I can think of something good to put 😆MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁7 -

sounds awful NG,
locally (north) our area seems ok, lidl normal, poundland and Iceland normal apart from loo rolls. Big supers I haven't ventured to. I do plan on getting a full tank of petrol today in preparation, my husband less concerned. my efforts to buy extra toiletries over the last few weeks has largely been scoffed at. But I think it may hit home a bit now.
