Not not much to report today, I went to wrap up mil’s birthday presents and realised the the p@ndora charm bracelet I bought after Xmas doesn’t open. I took it to the local store and they didn’t have anymore and so I had to pay an extra £20 for a far more plain version that wasn’t in the sale. When I asked for a bag I was told I was not entitled to one as it was originally an online purchase (£75 plus I just handed over another £20 cash!) she said she would for an old one lying around and I could have that if she found one. Really not happy so I’ve emailed them to complain, it’s a company that I have used a lot and are normally great.
Also bought three candles as presents, yank@@ ones way cheaper than usual, large Xmas red apple wreath one for £9.50 with free delivery and a couple of others, all from the Xmas pot of course 🙂 Got to keep an eye out all year to get good stuff on the new lower budget without buying people cheap rubbish they won’t want 😆
The freezer Is full and fridge mostly empty which is apparently the way to run an effective frugal household, or in my case lose weight as I’m too lazy to defrost and cook anything so had a plate of salad again while the others had frozen fish and chips!Op made £1, just to make sure I haven’t forgotten how to make ops it’s been that long....MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁5 -

Nothing yet Vix, but I hope so.
Training ds2 at work to do my job is going well, unfortunately I have so much work at the moment it’s slowing me down a bit though. I was hoping to take time off next week as it’s my birthday but I’m not sure now.Next door has put his house up for sale! Always much excitement if that happens with neighbours, but he is very quiet so i would rather he stay. There a sign up but it’s not online yet, i must have checked about 100 times so far. I’ve suggested dd and boyfriend buy it (out of budget unfortunately) and we could put a little cat flap through the living room walls for the cat to visit and I can pop my head through to say hi. DD is not keen but strangely boyfriend is 😆
Getting a little worried about out cruise to Italy in may now, there is no relevant update on the p@o site as it’s all about world cruises with a few changes to China etc. Everything looks to be as usual, you normally have to fill out health questionnaires anyway, but it’s a worry.
Payday yesterday, it’s been so hectic at home and work this last week I’ve barely looked at the accounts. I know I went over budget in food and petrol and just hope I’ve not eaten into too much of the extra op money I had accumulated in feb.
Back later to report!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁4 -
Argh, so frustrating as I’ve just lost a huge financial update post 🤦🏼♀️ Will repost again tomorrow when I get time. Mil’s 80th went really well Saturday, we had enough cakes to sink a battleship at the afternoon tea, I overspent somewhat but it was worth it and everything was on a budget, for example balloons from the card f@ctory , flower displays made from a small bunch of roses and daffs in glass kilners from £1land, bunting and tablecloths from home bargains, in lovely pinks. Also spent on something rather pointless that best friend talked me into - a gold vintage style bar cart from primarni which is a copy of an oliv@r bonas one that’s ten times the price, mine was £30 though, looks good in the new living room with flowers on it.
Its my birthday tomorrow, and ds1 has the day off to go to Nottingham to see his favourite band (again) and said he will take me for breakfast first in my favourite cafe which he does not approve of, as it’s more avocado toast than greasy spoon 😆 Then off to the shops to meet my aunts and mum, then hopefully a couple of hours to do nothing as it’s been non stop all week.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁2 -

Thanks everyone you are all very kind. Had a lovely breakfast with ds1 who insisted on paying, then popped to the shops for a coffee, then back to get best friend for a sandwich in c@sta, then mum and aunts again for tea and cake at mine, also squeezed in an ald@ shop along the way.Got lots of nice gifts and vouchers and cash too, will use the vouchers to get some summer clothes perhaps 😊MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁5
