Hi southcoast, hope it’s better on laptop for you, It’s going to take me ages to get used to it!
Very busy day and night decorating, cleaning, filling etc. Dh has done more since he got home from work yesterday than the useless builder has done most of the week, allegedly his coming tomorrow to finish , but as he doesn’t turn up on a weekday often I can’t see him coming on a Sunday.
Too exhausted to have checked accounts on do anything mse, eBay stuff ends tomorrow though so that’s exciting

It is a bit weird, isn't it, this format - we are very much creatures of habit, it would seem!!
Fingers crossed for the (annoying) builder turning up.... and well done on the flebayingx

Hi greent, no builder so far, we are now at a point we can’t carry on or move back in this weekend now but are nearly ready, it’s soooo frustrating. He’s put the sunk in plug sockets right up against the new skirting so for example the sky won’t plug directly in as the plug is too big and won’t lie flat. On the plus side the “overtly olive’ in the living room section looks fantastic, rest of the room is off white but looks very like white
it’s a bit like having a new house as downstairs is just the kitchen and one large room and both are done (or nearly done) now.

How can they take away the  smileys when you really need them! Must be so frustrating for you at the moment. Did he turn up at all in the end?
How did Ebay do? I listed a whole load of bits yesterday - a couple of bids so far.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Hi vix, no he didn’t show again! Dad and dh have basically taken over now, what a joke.Still all eBay sales paid for except one now, not totted up the actual profits will do that if I get time after work 😁 hoping for a good extra op again this month but come March I think it will all stop as I can’t think of ways to earn extra big money now, I’ve done the account switches, tax code change, and selling what might get anything, old gold was sold many years ago to op, I need new ideas!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁7

Still no builder as he’s poorly - in my mind this translates as lazy, but I am cynical. Room steadily getting there as dh and dad are doing bits to move it on, dad says he won’t use him again but I bet he does 😏
One non payer on eBay now so I’ve opened a case to refund the fees, I will relist it at the weekend. Looked at the business account yesterday, not much goes through there now, mainly rent and dh has bought a couple of machines for ds2 to train on privately, but there was a lot more than I expected in there. Dh lets me do what I want with all the wages but I don’t have anything to do with the business accounts. I’m now itching to get my hands on it 😆 We need to keep a big float in there in case of rent delays, but at least £4 or 5k could be paid out in my opinion. It’s dhs call though and I have a feeling it will be the £2K he has already said he would pay out before April as it will be tax free. Whatever it is it will go to ops to get the final balance remaining as low as possible at the end.
Off to the shops today with best friend for tea and toast at m&s for breakfast, followed by a cost@ lunch deal, it’s my favourite day of the week, food , shops and chatting 😊MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁7 -
Good news about the business account! If you’d have to pay tax on more than £2k, surely it would be worth waiting until the new tax year to take more anyway?
Beware the shops! Remember the mortgage!😉Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Are you also a shareholder in the business, ng? - if so, then you are both entitled to tax free £2k div pa (although would need to bear in mind your % split on the shares) And even if you take more in a tax year the dividend tax rate over 2k is less than 'normal' income taxI am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £204

Hi greent, I’m not a shareholder but it has been mentioned by me a few times, paying out an extra £2k may well put him off to be honest 😏 will have chat again over the weekend I think about the whole thing.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁7

It's just a way to get more money out tax free
- we had both of our eldest children on as shareholders, too
