So sorry to hear you've been broken into
it's good to see that you're not letting it dampen your spirits too much :heart2: 0 -
Thanks moneyfordreams and juliecorn

It Monday so a great day for a fresh start! I'm going to do my own daily mse list, organisation is the key to money saving after all. Plus my last minute shopping trips whilst tired and hungry on the way home from work tend to include wine
Also thought I'd get more of a routine going with the housework etc. My own 'flylady' plan - I never keep up doing the right stuff on the right days on the old style one.
MONDAY:
* Get mortgage paperwork signed by dh ready to post tomorrow
* Washing , this will be daily!
* cleaning - bathroom/ensuite
* vacuum / mop everywhere
* choose a style of composit front door - builder gets them made to order
* go through finances ready to do he money shuffle on payday (thurs) although there may not be a mortgage op this month now with the door!
* book Iceland delivery, I have an empty new freezer again need veg, cauliflower rice, quorn bits a few ice lolly treats.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
So sorry to hear about the break-in/burglary NG - how awful! I'm glad to hear no one was hurt - everything else can be sorted!
It sounds like it's motivated you rather a lot!
I have to say, I'm with Daisy - I don't go near a shop unless it's for something I need. It really does help with the impulse purchases.
A daily list is a good way to keep on track - I fear the day (possibly today!) that I have nothing to report - very motivating!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Thanks fortune

I ticked everything off yesterday's list :T still a bit undecided about which front door to choose, I have slightly odd taste so tend to go for things others wouldn't - that makes me question sometimes whether I'll get fed up quicker with something more unusual. Will speak to builder today and try and get a better idea of costs.
TUESDAY:
* speak to builder about costs and timeframe
* spend some time helping job/apprenticeship hunt :eek: (without adding pressure I have been told by dh - it's exam time!)
* dust downstairs and top floor - not touching the middle floor where the filthy live :rotfl:
* post mortgage paperwork
* consider having something planned for bank holiday other than eating/drinking now i am on the wagon and dieting properly

Everything ticked off the list again - but only a brief conversation with ds2 about apprenticeships, slightly relieved as he has clearly been having a good look! I've been exhausted all week, went to bed a 7.30 last night and fell asleep straight away, hopefully I can stay awake tonight as I'm taking my great aunt to the cinema to cheer her up. She's full time carer to my 82 yr old uncle with dementia (although she's much younger) and is struggling but refusing help at the moment

WEDNESDAY:
* take great aunt to see deadpool - an odd choice but the rest are chick flicks and horror which she doesn't like
* buy some drinks and snacks on way home from work to take (she will try and pay for some otherwise and doesn't have a lot of money)
*continute not drinking and sticking to WW , going well so far but the scales won't be kind this week
* mini clean of bathrooms and ensuite
* take something out of freezer for dhs dinner tonight , kids all having frozen takeout style pizza I bought yesterday
Happy hump day everyone

Softly softly, career discussion via stealth is clearly the way to go then! Drop a few comments in, let them fester and he starting to do the work himself...result! What areas is he thinking?MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0

Hi jimmy, ideally film. He's found an apprenticeship he likes the look of but it's way too far to travel, I'm hopeful he will widen his net a bit!
Went for round two of deadpool with my great aunt, forgot how rude it is but she's enjoyed it :rotfl:
Payday tomorrow and I've no idea how much the new door will be, plus I've asked them to rebuild the low front wall on one side in the front garden as it's totally crumbled. My guess is the best part of one mortgage payment! The door I like is online for about 1k but hopefully the builder will come back with a better price. Also need to buy a ring door bell, so that's another £80. It's not going to be much of an op
