Some people just dont get it do they. My friend is still on an IO mortgage and I cringe at it but she still claims she is skint. I think some people just enjoy life too much and dont care for the future, just waiting for inheritances to flood through!!MPs left feb '08 276- Dec 13 36 :T MB Jan 10 ~ £82,377 Dec 13 ~ £29987

But we'll all have the last laugh won't we, when we're all MF AND still young enough to enjoy it0 -
That's the worry isn't it - that in say 2 years time, they'll have not paid off a penny of capital and will have a massive headache in terms of finances
I think there's a balance, sometimes I'm a bit OCD in terms of overpaying and at the "cost" of treating ourselves out, but as you've said, I'm aiming to be MF asap, although once we get there, I don't know if we simply look for a bigger house or settle into a more comfortable lifestyle with less pressure and more time with kids (when they arrive).Feb 2012 - onwards MF achieved

Thats so true pammy! Dh's assistant manager, on less money than him had just had a loft conversion and log cabin, but has told dh they have gone IO??!! cannot understand the logic, but I know for a fact he has elderly parents
My own gran(and late grandad) had been left 3 houses at different stages of their lives, sold them , spent the money and then took equity release out on their bungalow 15 years ago.
Being rubbish with money runs in my family big time, the urge to spend money I don't have still rears its head with me sometimes, once I start spending I'm on a roll, and the urge has been a lot stronger lately what with spending money on the garden, I found that I really like to buy stuff.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -

Also Hi to auntie mabel, I have been reading your new diary too, keep up the good work.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
I think deep down we all do like to spend, and it is only through being here, that i find i have some willpower not to. It's harder to justify it when you know everyone here is doing the same as you.0

Definatly, I am very impatient and get bored easily, there is no way I would have carried on oping without MSE. I think the urge to spend comes and goes for me, but the thought of having to explain it here puts me off.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0

Exactly, Its like holding your head down in shame if you spend silly lol. Dont tell teacher
Actually I love stating my OPs and freebie buys on here, its like when I get a good buy I cant wait to tell my 'mates'MPs left feb '08 276- Dec 13 36 :T MB Jan 10 ~ £82,377 Dec 13 ~ £29987

That's exactly whats so good about the forum. Even though people don't 'know' each other, the support given and received is so good for morale and there's a real sense of responsibility to be honest (for good and bad) once you've stated your MFW aim0

The boys are back at school today, so I'm going to spend some time with dd to see what she needs to take on her school trip friday, hopefully not too much.
DD desperatly wants some converse boots , but the cheapest I found is £30, and this month is pretty tight, but last night I saw them on the grabbit board for £9 on amazon, her size in red. Unfortunatly when I went to pay It would'nt let me, I did manage to get 2x pairs in a size 4 that would fit ds2, for £9/£12 plus had a voucher from Vo for a tenner to spend :j I'm going to save them until his birthday in july, I just hope he likes them.
So my new challenge is to make enough in amazon vouchers to pay for a pair for dd for her birthday, I've just started doing my survey again , does anyone know of any others that pay out in amazon vouchers?
Oh , and back on the diet AGAIN today :rotfl:MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0
