I bought a tent which was big enough for us four and I only used it for a two night break and then its been in the shed for the past two years lol. I darent go on my own (that one was with a group of single parents) as I cannot put the tent up on my own and darent open it again to see if its still ok. As I have the trampoline in my garden I cant open it and put it up to check. I doubt it will be ok now.
Kids enjoyed it but my DD has now got a bad phoabia of spiders so doubt she would enjoy it now.
We are going to Kessingland Lowestoft with pontins with tesco vouchers (last hol through them) and have two days out booked with vouchers too so not too much spending hopefully :)

:D Ha ha, what a lot of camping cowards!

I thought some of you might be keen campers and persuade me its a good idea.

The caravan will be nice I'm sure Pammy and i'm impressed that you paid for it in vouchers, I never earn anywhere near enough.

The sun one for £100 sounds great cath, I love devon, we have been going to salcombe in the south hams almost every year since dd was 6 weeks old.

I am quite glad this weekend is over,it has been very stressful, we have been arguing for half of it :(
On the plus side the electrician has finished and charged £250 which dh paid, not so good is the hot tub is playing up, I think the heater has a problem so I've emailed the manufacturer, typical when everything else is nearly finished.

Good news is dd is back home, tired but happy.

I have done something a bit naughty today, I have booked centerparcs, its the cheapest weekend of the whole year (yes I checked every weekend :o) its cold and we can only do the fri after school to late sunday night as they all have to be back at school and work but it was £309 for a three bed for the 6th of jan.

Its nearer £400-£600 most weekends so its a bargin by their standards, I plan to surprise the kids with it xmas morning as an extra present. They get so much from everyone else i'm trying to keep the presents to a sensible amount. We will just spend on the kids not ourselves this year to help balance the cost out a bit. I need to earn the money to pay it now.

Naughty. ;) Sounds like you have been pretty sensible in choosing the weekend that you did. Ours was £385 by the time we picked a villa, so it is a good deal.

And, you will have longer to pay than we do. I have to pay the rest of mine by the 1/07.

That still seems a lot of money to me for a weekend away. What am I missing that is so special about CP? Is it avoiding chavs that cant afford it lol Thats us off to pontins this year :o

Hope the kids love their surprise, is that the weekend before they go back to school?

The kids will already be back at school Pammy, so we will go after school friday and back late sunday night.

We went CP 2 years ago when my parents booked it as a surprise as we were not having a hol that year. I just love being in the forest, as you walk from the villa to the center(a long way in our case) there were rabbits, birds etc running around plus little play areas dotted around. The pool was boiling hot and they loved the watershoots, and we prebooked a carvery overlooking the lake on the sunday. I think its the only time I've been away and not wanted to come home. :happyhear I get homesick sometimes.

As for chavs, we have been to some shockers before, clacton was the worst ever when people came out for breakfast in the restaurant in their pj's, that was a karate training weekend for the kids, they loved it though, I don't think kids mind where they go they always enjoy it, mine also can never remember how long they went for, if it was a week or weekend.

For me it just feels so safe and quiet. Once you get there you drop off the stuff in your villa then the car goes back to the car park and is not allowed on site till the end of your stay. The kids can cycle in safety, as can i. And the wildlife come to your door. We saw little deer on our patio, and often hand feed the birds.

We just find it magical, in spite of the price. It makes you feel like you are in a different world.

I am not making any op's this month to cover the extra spent on the bathroom last month. So I've been on the "this much I know" calculator , which I find the best one, working out how much I need to op by per month.

I took out a 12 year mortgage (reduced from 31 years) last may. I am hoping to knock another 2 yrs off.
SO, i have 9 years left to clear £150,650.
We are on interest only which I will leave until we get close to our op limit.

Monthly payments over 9 years £1636.20

    Plus £100 extra from my £200pm wages = £1736.20

That would finsh the mortage in July 2019, 10 months early

    Plus £115 extra from my £200pm wages = £1751.20

That would finish the mortgage in June 2019 11 months early

My twins are 19 in july 2019, so I would just scrape in when the boys are 18 which would be my dream target.

That would mean clearing the whole mortgage in a total of 9 years and 1 month.

I will seriously need to step up the money earning to get close to this though as I am finding it a challenge to stick to my budgets at the moment.
