Oops I've been avoiding mse this week, mainly as I have been spending too much

After long chats with dh over whether to extend the house/move/ have a new kitchen, I took the plunge and ordered a new fridge freezer :rotfl: its the one thing we can't wait for any longer! Our old (but pretty!) pink smeg actually starting oozing slime this week from its leaky freezer compartment.
I did try and get a second hand one to tide us over but to be honest we have never had a brand new fridge EVER and I thought for a extra £200 odd we can
I went for a huge stainless steel kenwood fridge freezer as you seem to get more value for money that way, larder fridges are dearer.
Other than that I've bought a couple of pairs of summer sandals and some cheap clothes from primarni as my hope of not shopping until at goal weight is a bit unrealistic as it's hot. I've a few nice dresses I bought for he cruise last year, but really need everyday stuff.
Also had two girls nights out this week!
Not sure of the damage so far financially, I'm updating it all today.....MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
I'm still avoiding the finances and it was payday yesterday
It was a choice between going for a swim and starting to sort through the spending - I went for a swim, this is out of character.
Dh has arranged for the builders next door to the factory to have a look at the log cabin as whilst he was clearing it out again at the weekend ready for painting, a flipping great hole appeared when the floor collapsed  it was tiled, which it shouldn't have been as the movement leads to cracks.
Builder is just advising dh how to do it himself , but it will mean a skip and materials. It does seem silly to be spending on the garden when there is so much in the house needs doing, but summers coming and I was hoping to do a lot more BBQ s and socialising, as well as dds boyfriends Dd loves gong in the hot tub.
The cat has also resumed her old hobby of using he corner of conservatory as a toilet ( she does have a tray!) it's laminate so really needs replacing but I didn't want it doing until we are mf. The floor is warped already from an old leak we had there previously, so it's not ideal!
All these issues are stressing me out a bit, I don't know how to budget, what term to apply for a new mortgage for, whether to slow down the ops a bit ( that will also be stressful adding to term), whether to continue at full pelt - stressful as things keep costing money.
I need to work it all out I think, if we do relax a bit will it be just for minor repairs or more? i don't know and that's why my head is in the sand!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -

With the cat have you checked she's not associating the tray with pain? I'm only speaking from experience but when one of ours starts going out of the tray is due to crystals in his urine which form due to stress/a proclivity for urine problems. No point replacing the laminate until cat has stopped - we've been through 3 Ikea doormats (as that's where he likes to go!)... at least they're cheap to replace.
Sort through the spending - you'll be more stressed not knowing what the situation is currently, without worrying about decision making.... and then you'll be able to come up with a new plan

Thanks for the comments

Moneyfordreams, doing the work in steps would work if we don't go for any major things like extensions I guess.
Hi Ed, not sure about the fun mum part :rotfl:
Vix, thanks but I'm sure the cat is not in pain. She's a white Siamese and they can be prone to odd behaviour, my mum's Siamese sometimes goes on in strange places too.
I think it's because I changed her litter for a couple of days a few weeks back and she took offence! it something she has done from time to time since being a kitten, but thankfully not often.
I'm out to weightwatchers this morning then taking some bits back I bought the boys at the shops. I shall do a run through if the accounts before I go though.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Ah - you've got a pedigree cat? Probably just being uppity! We had a beautiful Burmese when I was growing up and while she was a proper "chocolate box cat", she was a bossy wee sod! :eek:0

I've had a couple of Burmese cats in the past Ed, they are lovely :)Uppity is a great way of describing them :rotfl: ours is mistaken for a crying baby when I'm on the phone to people who don't know us!
Second weigh in day today and 3.5lb off :j so pleased that my efforts have paid off, the gym and swimming have helped.
Money shuffle done at last and I'll update he figures soon, there will still be an op this month -that's something at least

I often leave NG's diary thinking her teenagers are seriously lucky (but don't realise just how much).
