Monthly update done and £670 moved to savings pot for the new plan. (Holidays, birthdays etc.)
I would live to do a September challenge, it's going to be a really expensive month - dh , mum dad and brothers Birthdays, proms at the park and and a trip to Tuscany, big things hopefully budgetted for but am unaware of the real costs yet.
So Septembers plan is to just try and scrape by!
3 month end of year challenge to follow from October
Thanks wishingthemortgageaway, just spotted your post

My next life starts in October too , I don't think I abandoned frugality totally, I just got side tracked by pre holiday spending.

Sometimes it's just too many expenses at once

The mortgage has been approved on the factory :j my incessant nagging for dh to take as short a term as possible have worked :T term 10 years and he is intending on overpaying it once the loan is paid off in a few years , making the term more like 7 years
Costs will be the same as they are currently for the big IO loan unbelievably, he could have had a longer term but never seems to be in the situation that there is excess money floating around.
Projected end date (it's 80k) will be around Feb 2024. It's hopefully, all going well going to be part of a pension pot for the future all going well, as it would currently rent at around 25k per year. It offsets the fact we have pretty rubbish pensions and savings due to mostly having no money, and more recently focusing on clearing the mortgage as the business has always been a bit up and down and we didn't want to end up homeless :rotfl:MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
