We had a great night away at the xmas market and the hotel was lovely.

Kids not happy when we got back as we have no internet, this is clearly a fate worse than death judging by the fuss they are making! To top it off dds ceiling has come down in one corner , I think due to me overloading the loft crawl space storage which is not boarded out.

Dd has also been told she won't be paid for the many days work she's done for deliveroo - I need to see her contract , I had a feeling she would have issues. She quite fed up now she is not earning and I feel like a fairly rubbish parent being so tight with money all the time.

Still no internet or answer from dodgy phone company. Managed to do the banking and made this months full op, so £2888 off the balance this month 😄 Pleased with that even if December will not go quite to plan I'm sure!

£26 overspend on this months food budget so far - total spend £692 since oct 1st , £308 left until Jan 1st now. I doubt I'll hit that target too.

I need to get my head around not being on target to clear the mortgage or working out a way to generate more money, the budget I am trying to stick to won't be enough.

Great mortgage overpayment. Hope dd gets her wages sorted out.
Keep focusing on the goal and the feelings that come with being mortgage free newgirly. You're frugal and will still enjoy the ride by fitting in cheaper treats and rewards.

    You're soooo close now!

Hi greent , that's a good question! She was told she was not getting paid for all weeks work as she had no sign ups this week (job was paid per hour with a bonus for each sign up) will look at her contract when she gets back.

Thanks cath, it's that time of year when the invites out get a bit awkward and frequent when you are trying to be cheap :D
I've been looking at the op spreadsheet and I know we can't stick to the same amount, I would like to give dd a bit of money every month as she is struggling and we are Only paying her travel. Likewise Xmas and birthdays - it's worked well this year sticking to a monthly amount saved , most years I would be dipping into the mortgage ops at the end of the year.

Will have another good run through everything today and set a watertight budget for the rest of he mortgage term

Hi spamtastic , Ha ha not yet! Due to the sheer volume of ceiling decorations I thought I'd put them up later this year :rotfl: we have best friends mums old 60's 70's pull out foil fabulous decks again this year , it's a time warp extravaganza :xmastree:

Are you putting up yours early spamtastic? is anyone yet? :D

    That's sounds lovely spamtastic :)

New plan all done, I couldn't decide whether to add two months or three to the projected end date but I've gone for two months so an end date of sept 2018 (two months after the twins 18th and dds 21st boo!)

So 22 months left from now, rather than budget for xmas and birthdays monthly , I'm just budgetting for birthdays monthly and Xmas will be a lump sum of £1000 from oct 2017's op, 2018 hopefully we will be mf anyway :)

Adding an extra 2 months frees up £20 pm for dd and £85 for birthdays, plus £122 extra to live on - total budget now £622 pm. It's till going to be a bit tight as we need to save a bit for a couple of things that are already booked. It's a lot more realistic really, I knew the over stretched budget would be short term :o
