Horrid weather here today, I'm off to take flowers the the crematorium for gran today as it's been a year, can't believe it's gone so fast
Anyway, finances are going well so far. I took back the last of the things I bought last week and got a refund on my next boots £50, along with reducing what I allow for dhs tax bill by £100 in jan 2018 (I have overestimated) I can reduced the term down to July 2018. It's still highly unlikely to be achieveable living on £500 a month including clothes and petrol, and no savings except the mortgage offset.
Read the metres today (currently paying £137pm) and made a small top up of £8.79 with the float left in the current account, its cold here and we spend lots already with 5/6 of us, so may have to spend more, i will be doing ovo op's instead of mortgage ones as Tilly tidies
Second Tesco delivery coming soon £42 - £53 now left for Nov in the budget if I roll over an extra £50 for December. Not sure this will be possible, dh has taken up a serious mortgage mince pie habit , I've ordered a large jar of mincemeat and am going to attempt making some and freezing, I defrosted both freezers last night, lots more room now
Happy SaturdayMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Busy day and not much achieved! Took Some flowers for gran and then went to the garden centre where me and mum used it take her all the time, then back to my parents for my dads lovely sarnies
I had to spend some money today (£4.29) i had a mountain of ironing to do and my iron broke this afternoon, it was grans old one and it's the first anniversary of her death, so now my mum thinks she is haunting me, via the iron I guess :rotfl: my family do have a strange sense of humour - gran would have loved that
Not much else to report, went for a drive in dds boyfriends new car (hurray- no more lifts from us!), drank a bit of wine and watched strictlyMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Yuk, woken up with the cold my mum has had all week
Dh is at work AGAIN today, he is a trooper poor thing, when work needs doing he gets on with it! Hopefully it's just for a few hours this morning.
Plans today :
Strip our bed (has to be done on a Sunday, not sure why!)
Clean bathrooms and kitchen
Find Xmas presents and check list :xmassmile
Cook lunch for 7 of us today
If time, make a Xmas wreath for he front door, I gave mine to mil as she didn't have one and didn't realise they are quite dear! So I'm going to make a ring from some board at work and masking tape all round it then wrap tinsel around it and put some baubles on £0 spend.
Dig out my Mary berry Xmas book, I need ideas for Boxing Day (except mums leftover meat!)
Might go to the cinema
Put feet up and watch I'm a celeb yet another trash tv guilty pleasureMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
All Christmas presents bought :xmastree: only need to get food, drink and a few silly table presents (less than £10 the lot!) very happy it's all sorted
£48.08 left for food this month (plus an extra £50 I was saving for December extras) I think that £50 will have to be spent unfortunately as its only the 14th so we have another 17 days, blimey saying it like that does sound worrying :rotfl:MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Well done on having Xmas sorted already!

It's been a really busy week, I'm so behind with diaries now
Dh is very stressed out again, at the moment he doesn't seem to think he is which is not so great. Hopefully he will improve as we are going away for the night thurs to a Xmas market.
£19.73 left in this months budget with no surplus to carry over to December, ive ordered a huge Iceland delivery to come today, we will tons of frozen veg and meat, it's so much quicker and easier when I am feeling lazy , which I currently am!
Last night we went to dds awards ceremony, she has won the same thing twice now, this year it was two awards one for exceptional results and one for contribution to student life at college £300 this year which she is saving for a break to Disney Paris, I am so pleased for her as she work so hard
I've over spent and bought dh a new coat in m and s (20% off) plus a jumper, along with some jeans for the boys. Due to the unsustainably tight budget ive put us on, I'm going to pay for it by cashing in £200 of premium bonds I have saved for next novembers mini cruise. It's maybe a strange way of doing things, but I figure if I manage to pay the mortgage op I want to every month for as long as we can manage it, it's a good thing. If it's not possible at least we are more ahead than we would have been if I'd not tried as hard! Any way to pay for stuff we need is fair game except the mortgage op's
Payday Thursday and a total mortgage payment to come out of £3,096
Have bought he tinsel and baubles n £1land to make a Xmas wreath for the door this weekend, off to the cinema to watch fantastic beasts tomorrow followed by pizzas and Malteser pavlova from Iceland - hopefully a nice day if dh perks up.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Super lazy unhealthy dinner tonight of veggie burger with onion rings and guacamole and wedges cooking away, I never eat food like that and quite fancy it
I'm slightly peeved tonight as dh has seen his mum and although we said we are having Boxing Day at ours (for the first time in 3 or 4 years and have invited them) she has ordered loads of meat and a turkey from m and s to do it at her house! Afetr a restrained conversation on my part where I politely confirmed it will be at our house, she is now bringing the meat with her. One year I had to stop the kids eating Xmas eve cooked Turkey on New Year's Day ........:(MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0
