Dh has gone to work again, I've offered to help - again - but ds2 has gone with him. I'm secretly relieved as I'm going to go to m & s and buy dh a different coat as I'm not sure he likes the first one and the 20% ends today. I'll have to buy two sizes just incase so will end up taking three big coats back in total now. The extra cost will be £16 so that came come from my personal spends next month.

    Happy Sunday :)

  • Dinner sounds delicious :D

I had a Mcd's yesterday.. I have one every 5 years or so. little GD ate my fries though... she just came and swiped them after eating her own!!

I hope your OH stress levels lessen soon.... Stress and worry ate away at my OH like a disease. We may have a mountainous mortgage , but he is so much better. He passed his stress onto me for a while. I dreaded Sundays as I couldn't leave my job in the workplace... Cue job change for me too.. :) It was the title of your diary that found me this website. I was researching ways paying off the mortgage when your diary popped up.

I'm sorry your dh suffered with it too mfd's, I'm hoping this is more of a busy , tired and grumpy thing rather than the lead up to something worse like he has had before.

I'm glad you found my diary googling paying off mortgages :D I still look for blogs etc. about the subject, there don't seem to be many articles or blogs around that are recent covering the subject, are we really that unusual?

  • I think we must be. I can't help but mention extra payments, or retiring early more like. I get looked at as if I'm a loon.... however it is catching. A colleagues has resolved to get shut of CC's, another one who wants to reduced hours soon by semi-retirement but mortgage will last another 5 yrs has, increased her payments by £100 pm... and my older sister has realised she needs to focus and pay her mortgage off... my niece thanked me for making her prioritise herself :D
Another sister still has head in the sand :(

  • Hiya Newgirly, have you had the chance to go to https://www.pottermore.com/news/house-of-minalima-exhibition-announcement this yet? I was there today & thought of you :) It's absolutely magical & not to be missed! Full of Harry Potter artwork, but also so many lovely set pieces, it's like walking into the film! xx
a penny picker upper. MFW approx 78% to go | FIRE 3 years worth (30% savings rate: now aiming for 40%!) | Normality is a paved road; it's comfortable to walk, but no flowers grow on it | Whatever you're meant to do, do it now. The conditions are always impossible | The only thing you absolutely have to know, is the location of the library

Thank you pearla :D never heard of it and just had a look so will now go! Dd and I are having a girly London day before Xmas so it's perfect, I'm guessing you had a good day :)

Hi money for dreams, I too have been trying to help some people at work - car/home insurance , credit card switching etc. I know I will sound awful but I am so shocked at how bad grown adults can be with money - and it's not as if I've no experience being useless too! At least you are trying to help :o

Hi Alex, hope all is well and you are now making Xmas plans :p

Different coat bought today for dh which he will wear - hooray (four coats later.....) The other three will go back. Also managed to get 8x chocolate oranges in Asda for 50p each :T sadly only 6 have survived the night so far :(

Nothing exciting to report today, bought myself a coat from Tesco (£45 military style one) however that, together with the lack of spending money for this weeks night away ( and next weeks visit to the Inlaws overnight) mean I have really got to change the other premium bonds to cash :o

We have a year to save for the four days spending money needed for next November so it's not the end of he world I guess, although it doesn't bode well for me actually managing the next 20 months on a very low budget! Still if it gets really cold at least we won't freeze to death :D

Got up to see dd in the living room in pjs and a coat as it's so cold here - I am most offended as the thermostat was set to 20 , that's hot in my book  when they were at school all day it would be off until they got home if it was just me in the house , whatever the weather. I need to toughen up the kids :D

Went to see fantastic beasts and where to find them after work today with ds2, lovely film, spoilt only by the vast number of people in there , mostly eating noisily and even a crying tiny baby - I know babysitting can get tricky - but why would you! I am seriously turning into a cinema snob. Empty cinema needed next time, we may start having to go at midnight :D On the plus side it was £0 spend again, I couldn't get he meerkat code Up on my phone so the guy at the till called the manager over and gave us a free ticket anyway :T

Only two days to payday , it's good, that ops can be made but won't help the food or personal budget as 1). I've spent most of next months personal spends already and 2). Food budget doesn't start until 1st December :(

He bluefire, I totally agree! We had a seat kicker a few rows back and it was very off putting. I used to take my three all the time when they were little (by myself) and would have told them to stop as it would have annoyed other people - especially me :rotfl:

Long day at work, very tired and still a few bits to do before we go away for the night tomorrow. Best friend has a migraine so I hope She feels better tomorrow, they never go away without the kids so I really hope they enjoy it, you can't beat a Xmas market :D

Pay day tomorrow , I need to get up early to do the money shuffle
