As an enthusiast, you really do need to learn your way around a car, NG. ;)

You're very lucky to have an enthusiast parent, though. :) What other interesting cars has your father had?

I don't know too many to list Alex, they were not classics when he had them though :rotfl: nowadays it's always new cars (apart from the lotus) next to be delivered is a Maserati  gran had a few nice cars including a gold e type coupe brand new, bubble cars, various mg's and many others - grandad didn't drive and rode a bicycle though!

Beyond tired today, really busy at work and not a lot of sleep , have been in bed half an hour already.

Your grandmother clearly had good taste. :) I may be buying an MGB tomorrow.

Do Maserati still run Ferrari engines in their cars? I've never had an Italian in my driving career yet.

I have no idea Alex :D what mg are you getting? They make me so nostalgic I used to have to push dads B down the road every morning in winter with mum to get it started, then we had a 78 midget when the kids were babies/ toddlers - 3 aged 3 and under could get stressful so I'd pop out for a drive when dh came home from work sometimes. We sold it to a bloke round the corner as we needed the money and he tortured me by driving past every day with the roof down!

Off today, popping to shops to take back clothes I bought the boys to try the other day, collecting christening presents - pop up tents and tunnel (not very traditional!) and then having lunch at best friends in her new kitchen - I will have serious kitchen envy as its like something from house magazine :D plus I think she has had a gym built and if so I would like to be her first member :rotfl:

Looking at B roadsters. :) Doesn't look like I'm getting the one I thought I was yesterday. May go and have a look at a few more, though. My first car was a '64 MGB, so rather nostalgic for me. Had a few MGB, BGTs and GT V8s over the years and a couple of Midgets too.

I have lots of nostalgic memories about my parents' cars from yesteryear too. :)

Dad had a GT too, me and my brother had to squish up on the "shelf" as there wasn't a proper back seat, how times have changed! Love roadsters, although always enjoyed driving the midget more as it was a bit more hooligan like- like my little mini Eric :D keep us up to date on your car adventures Alex ;)

Was intending an early night and then ds2 came down as the fugitive started so I sat and watched it with him, dd is out clubbing for the second time in her life! She has a friend staying plus is friends with our apprentice from work whom I've instructed ring them 10mins after he gets out of the cab first (we are further on) so he can check they are safe. It's certainly all go this week!

Severe lack of sleep, woke up at 3am to no girls home yet, then got a text they were on their way home with dd very drunk  she doesn't really drink normally but should know better! Of course then I couldn't sleep :o I need to toughen up or I will have many sleepless nights :rotfl:

It's credit card statement day today :j I can start next months budget, it's still zero balance accounting and £700 for everything not bills or mortgage or car tax etc.

    £700 but a 5 week month :(

£41 to be paid off the Nov 2017 cruise
    £65 ish petrol
    £400 groceries
    £34 cruise parking for sept

    £160 everything else!

Need to do a list and smallish shop for this weekend and Alton towers, I have a holiday spending budget for a meal out of £150 for 8 of us, I think locating the nearest wetherspoons might be the best bet. Everything else I will take and the kids and their friends will buy their own lunches and drinks at the park.

Nonsense, GTs have a rear "bench" ... Mrs K has sat in the back of one as we had to pick someone up (long story). Apparently it was the most uncomfortable experience of her life. :rotfl:

I grew up with Series Land Rovers and old (60s/70s) Jaguars. They were old then. Lots of funny stories, the best has to be my father hotwiring his Jag to override the autobox inhibitor which had failed outside my school. I'm sure I've recounted that one on here before.

Will keep you updated. Went to look at a rotten B today, owner thought it was amazing, of course. Midgets are good fun but I don't want something that small (already got a GT6).

:rotfl: Re. the drunk daughter. I know I won't find it funny in years to come when my son is doing the same, though. She'll be fine, I'm sure. Is she going to uni in September?
