Tea party went well, although I did leave them to it and joined a quite drunk dh in London and one of the new guys we are doing lots of work for , for a meal. Very interesting evening. He was most disrespectful of our business and staff (including dh ) and told us we are in the wrong location, he knows more about our trade than us etc. (our business has been running 125 years and is very well respected and dh has been president of the trade body) He is 28 and not even in the same business as us! I just smiled and listened all evening, which is totally unlike me, and then he bought us a meal to say thanks for all the help we have given them, a very strange evening.
Sorry for the rant but As you can guess it's really annoyed/upset me! Dh dismisses it and says ignore, we need the work and I do agree, but I also have to work along side him, I am not usually a woman who keeps her views to herself :rotfl:
Anyway, aside from that all is well. Builders were a no show yesterday, back today and Sunday to finish apparently :T Inlaws round tonight for dinner, I want a takeaway but am probably do lasagne and chicken /salad/breads etc. I still have a ridiculous amount of washing and all the packing to do, it has to be done by tomorrow as I am at work all week. Passports not located and inline check n not done , scared to look for passports as I know I won't find them :eek:MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Garden not complete, but will be done by Wednesday as they are doing it in the evenings after another job, am so excited - I have never wanted a paved garden always grass, but I love it and it makes the garden look bigger, lots of bbqs and parties now
I thought I would take the day off today (there is no work for me until tomorrow anyway). I have packed except a few bits which I will get today whilst out with mum and aunt. It took ages to pack as I have not really bought anything new , needed to did out/try on amd locate stuff. I also thought it would be nice to be able to clean the house fully with everyone out after the Easter holidays, have a bit of relaxing quiet time to myself - until ds1 informed me its an inset day  Nooooo!!!!!!!
Not that I don't love them, I just like to get rid of them after two weeks at home :rotfl:
Credit card spending going ok this month, usually I tend to overspend at the start and have to reign it in a lot at the end. Will not be doing a big shop this week as we are away for three days from Thursday, although dd will be home so will need some bits and pieces.
I was really pleased how Saturday evening went, even my fil was complementary about my cooking  they really appreciated the effort , so it was worthwhile getting the cake and balloons etc. And we all listened to Julio Englasias as well as its their favourite - now that's making an effort for the Inlaws :rotfl:
Diet is not going so well, a few lbs have crept back on, I will be making more of an effort (probably after the cruise if I am honest !) I am still about 13 lb lighter than I was at Xmas, but way off e 3 stones that I was hoping to have lost.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Just checked the mortgage account and I have made an error
£45 difference the wrong way! As all last months figures have been posted , I have had to pay it as an op today, plus an extra £10. Not sure how I managed to make a mistake, oh well. Current mortgage balance £125,937

Back to Zumba tonight, much harder after two weeks off!
I had a financial conversation with dh tonight, he has no interest in the finances and is happy for me to get on with it (for better or worse :rotfl:).
It's nice to be able to say what we have paid off rather than what we plan to pay off as in years past. For dh, I think there is no immediate difference really as he only has a bit of personal spends, but when the mortgage is gone we will have a lot more free cash and I just want him to have something to look forward to, he works so hardMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Tuesday to do list:
Go to work
Fill up car
Collect prescription
Top up shop for dd while we are away
Register online for cruise

Buy insurance for trip
Back later to cross off everythingMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -

My DH is the same with the finances, he is happy for me to look after them. I really wait until our mortgage is gone and he can have a bit more, he doesnt ask for much.
Hope you find those passports xx:hello:Wife & SAHM of 4 children aged between 9 and 3

Hi Hannah, passports found thanks
I am in shock I have managed everything on my list :T that has to be a first :rotfl:
I should add the builders don't finish until tomorrow night and the whole house is thick with dust from them cutting slabs in the garden wi the house opened up, will have to clean tomorrow night I guess, they finish when it gets too dark.
Currently having a dilemma re the cruise , we can book a drinks package but it's really expensive £50 a day each  normally I hasten to add we don't drink £100 worth of alcohol a day :rotfl: but its an American line and the drinks are dearer. We would drink more than usual and have the odd night cap or two , cocktail at sunset on deck, wine with dinner etc. Not sure whether to book or not! Either way I will be totting up the cost as we go to work out if it was the right choice, it averages out at about 6.76 drinks per day to break even. Ahem , with a couple of Baileys late at night I can easily drink that, thank goodness it's just 3 nights
Actually reading that back it does sound terrible :rotfl::beer::beer:MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
I think people might drink a bit more on a short cruise, as it's more of a party cruise.
Most people couldn't drink at that level for weeks on end!:rotfl:
Have a great time - will look forward to finding out how you get onEarly retired - 18th December 2014

Thanks goldie girl will let you know what it's like!
Garden finished and it looks so good :T it needs to be sealed with stuff to make the colour more dark and shiney, will do that in a week.
We are off this morning, all was going too smoothly so dh decided to go and get ill last night, he is dizzy and thinks it's a cold, typical!
I had some very good news last night, mum told me she is giving me (us!) £10,000 when grans house completes next week. She is also giving the kids some money too. Most or all of it will quickly go as an op to reduce the risk of temptation to buy a classic car (it's always a danger!). I might keep some back for a short break or short cruise possibly. I have to confess I did go and get my nails done last night to celebrate, £22 for fake French nails, can't use my hands now but they look good. You have to make allowances as I am an Essex girlMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Well deserved, that should hopefully take some pressure off you and your DH.
