Have fun! My dd loves it there too - as does DS2. Think my mum might take them again this Summer (fingers crossed!) I was very impressed with it when we went last year - and I'm not even a fan ;) xx

No access inside the dursleys house yesterday, but still a great day - purchases 3x butter beers and 4x small candy lollies total spend £22

I did a mr t shop last not (can use the cc from today , so am crossing my fingers last nights shops doesn't clear immediately!) Spent a massive £99 , I never spend that and lots of it was fresh veg/fruit. Diet has not been going well, I can't easily stick to the shakes, and have put 2lb back on. Now I am going to put more effort in and eat fresh prepared stuff and lots of veggies and salad as I did after Xmas which did actually work.

House messy and lots of washing to do (Lots!!) but I could take dd for a coffee and a shop wander like she wanted, I think I may do that as it is the holidays and I am a firm believer of - life first , cleaning - the minimum I can get away with :rotfl:

    So today's plans:

    Check accounts
    Pay for cruise parking
    Take dd for coffee
Offer to take boys out (they will decline as its the first day they have not been at school revision classes this week)
Do all washing and stick on Airers
    Clean bathrooms and kitchen
    Tidy hall, living room
    Hoover everywhere
    Change kids beds

Ok, well the whole to do list did not get completed :o I did do about half of it, but was distracted by some exciting gardening news :D

Our manky small back garden is having a makeover starting today :T my dad is having a big bit of decking replaced at the bottom of his garden with paving and offered to get ours done too! Our garden is currently about a third dodgy old paving and the rest a mud patch that used to be a lawn, I went and chose slabs yesterday morning, dark grey riven squares which will be coated with resin (they were the cheapest I could find!) a friend has had the same ones done and they do look good. I am so over the moon as its not something we would spend money on for a very long time ourselves. Builders start today

Credit card bill created late yesterday and It did include the big shop, I do have enough to cover it this month but it's so annoying as there is usually a few days between purchase and it showing on account!

Also ordered some m and s clothes for dh in the sale , trousers for £4.99 etc. Not sure if he will like or not as he doesn't get clothes from there usually, but reduced autograph ones from £45 has to be worth a go, spent £43 on about five items for him. Most likely will take five items back knowing dh :rotfl:

Dh's clothes collected and all ok £170 worth for £43 :T plus I bought some bits and bobs for the cruise for me, undies, socks etc. Not ball gowns :D

Time for a new three month challenge :D

The first challenge did not hit target due to our overspending :o so I have decided to roll over the amount we overspent with the same target as before - £7,500 plus £2,873 spent instead of overpaid = £10,373  ok, I may well be a long way off this target, but I am trying to get as close as it is possible to do :p

Monthly credit card spending limit has been reduced by £50 (don't think that will make a massive dent in the new target , but it's a gesture :D)

After yet another chat with the kids they still don't want to go away this year, Ungrateful lot !! So I may look out for things they want to do instead, extra football games/ days out etc. And if I can get any extra money together then I might try and do something with dh as its our 20th anniversary in August. Groupon often do cheap weekends away.

After many chats with dh, we are now pretty certain that we will not switch to an offset mortgage in July and save to buy the factory. Although it is very tempting the business can't afford to pay us any more to help with that at the moment, plus we both thought initially it should be home as a priority over business and that has not really changed I suppose.

If we throw everything at it for the next couple of years we we should owe half what we currently do, it doesn't mean we can borrow any more, but it might help a bit and hopefully we will be in profit by then!

Expenses coming up that need to be budgeted for in the three month period are:

Prom x2 - hopefully boys should be cheaper than girls :D

Tickets about £45 each, suits to hire or buy cheaply - need to research

Tickets for dh and I to go to the Newmarket nights concert/horse racing we do each year with the guys at work -about £40 each

Garden table and chairs for new garden- last one was smashed up in the storm a few weeks ago :( I want super cheap plastic , but they are not super cheap any more! Dh wants fancy and I don't want to spend money on garden stuff when our house is mostly second hand :rotfl:

I am looking on eBay but don't want wood, glass or rattan which limits us a bit :D

DS1 needed a suit for Army cadets dinners - we got one from Matalan, tapered skinny trousers and a v fitted jacket - definitely a going out not a work suit and cost us just under £50. He's worn it several times to cadet dinners and also to a family wedding (and maybe even to a funeral, I can't remember) so has proved very good value. If he's going to prom this year he will also be wearing it then! :D

Hi muser, I think we may have already solved the table shortage - the one we had previously to the glass one was a really big heavy wood one that we gave a friend at work as it was too big for the patio, apparently he has never used it and offered it to us back, dh forgot to tell me :D we should have plenty of room when the grass goes :T

Hi greent, will look at matalan thanks, I would much prefer to buy than hire and it may well cost the same :)

Great afternoon today, firstly found a £20 note on the pavement ( nobody around ) and treated me and dh to a cinema trip to see Eddie the eagle which was soooo enjoyable and uplifting, I used to love him and even named my pet hamster after him In the 80's :rotfl:
