    Welcome to the £130k's!

What terrible news about your daughter's friend. So sad.

Not a good day spending wise yesterday :o first I went to Mr t in store as I had a voucher for £5 off instead of using my delivery plan, £60 later and I couldn't use the voucher as it went out of date the day before.

Then last night I ordered some jewellery from the links website and spent lots  it's perhaps not as bad as it sounds as it was about £440 worth for a sweetie bracelet for dds 18th, and a necklace and a personalised pendant for my best friend for our 40ths, total cost (after tcb) of about £215. Plus dh will pay for my one at some point and I will get something I like :p

I'm thinking of doing 40 gifts for my friend, as she is expecting and her due date is her actual 40th birthday, terrible planning :rotfl: so no drunken night out to celebrate and I want to do something different. We were talking about it the other day as i did it for dh's 40th and he was not impressed really , would rather have had a new speaker or TV! But she thought it was a lovely idea.

Not sure about the accounts now Ibe overspent, still in the long run its a saving.

What a week and it's only Wednesday, dd was called in to see a teacher today and was told by her friend that is ill that she is not dying and had made it up, she does have a heart condition but the rest was not true. So we are very relieved but I am pretty upset as dd has been so upset, she was in tears all last night.

Dd really is a better person than me though, as she is not going to let it ruin her friendship, she thinks she will need a friend as she must be not right to do something like that.

Work is a big worry, we are currently losing £5k a month I found out yesterday. It's possible we could turn it around somehow next year but we will have to really go for it.

I'm in a bit of a dilemma over what I should be doing with our surplus money- save towards possible business mortgage , op still, clear the cards or save for a safety net. My sensible head is saying save for a safety net.

Back to the doctors tomorrow as my throat has got worse again, it's making me think it must be stress as it's been a very stressful week so far.

Lovely meal last night in prezzo, £19.95 for three courses and a glass of prosecco

Tonight we have family over for our xmas takeaway which dad traditionally pays for, although I will of course try and pay :D I got a great bargain on crackers yesterday three boxes for xmas day which I always get for mum and a box for us all tonight. £5.99 plus Bogof each and they are big with quite good presents, pretty similar to the debenhams ones I usually get when I spend about four times the price.

I did a meter reading this week and our costs for last month worked out at £3.75 per day for gas and electric which seems less than we have paid for a long time during winter, I'm with ovo who I know have undercharged some people but I can't see anywhere on my account any info which says that's the case, so fingers crossed they are just better value.

I went back to the doctor yesterday and saw a different one who was very helpful, my throat problems are stress related and he has given me a prescription for anti depressants incase I need it over xmas and they are shut. Apparently it works for stress too, however I really don't want to use it unless the symptoms get worse.

Need to have a look through the accounts and update the mfi3 challenge today, plus hopefully set in stone the targets for next year :T next April will be the fifth anniversary of me joining mse and starting a mfw diary , it's just gone so quickly.

This morning I'm going round a friend's to do our secret Santa , there are five of us but we only have to buy one present now which helps with the massive costs of xmas!

We are now nearing the end of mortgage and only 1 month to go. However it has been very difficult and had to sacrifice certain things to achieve our goal. I got so fed up with some people saying stupid things like "you can't take it with you" or you only have one life etc etc.

I know all these things but we do like security and once the debt is repaid its up to us what we do with the house. Also we we will be £450 a month better off on the mortgage alone.

We will have completed our mortgage journey 12 years early.

Congratulations Mabel that's fantastic, always great to hear about those who have got to the end of their mf journey successfully :T

I'm up late tonight incase dh and ds2 need picking up from the station as they have been to see Lenny kravitz in London tonight.

So with peace and quiet I've done the accounts and made a rough plan for next year.

I've decided to use all money to clear the 0% ccs, we owe a total of £12,003 today and potentially it could be paid off by next July.

The thought of more loans (for work) plus the ccs was too scary as was saving for the business as we will be standing still for 8months.
I figure if we need to get loans it will help if we owe less on the cards anyway.

It puts back the mortgage a bit, as I've not paid it this month and have paid some off the holiday next year , credit cards, and a small op plus have kept some in the isa as a cushion. To catch up next August onwards we need to find £170 extra pm for the term of the loan, but there will be monthly savings of £140 not having ccs anymore so really only an extra £30 pm to find :D

Thanks lulabelle, still a way to go yet!

Not at work at the moment as there is a major accident on the m25 so all roads and towns nearby are at a standstill, went out for an hour first thing and got about a mile then came home, not sure whether to go in later or take a day off, don't want to waste holiday :o

I'm a bit worried about the butlins break we are going on, I don't think the kids are that keen as they are all missing stuff with their friends they really want to do. Plus we have not been for about three years and they are teenagers now, so will find most of it babyish. I hope it will be ok as its cost a lot and it's probably the last ever time we will go. Too late to cancel now!
