Oh no, what's the alternative Newgirly? Continue to rent?

Hi Cath, that is what we will have to do if we can't get a mortgage. However we only have two years on the lease and no right to renew, plus the rent is likely to go up even more. Renting elsewhere would be a nightmare as there is nowhere the right size, price and location as we have to be in East London as the staff are all travelling distance and we deliver to central London uni's and goverment every day, so need to be very near the City.

Dh wants us to try a broker before trying for loans, not sure I agree as it's still unlikely as we need a commercial mortgage and even if we did get one the rates are much higher than buy to let , plus we will have massive fees to pay both broker and bank.

Still it will sort self one way or another I suppose, I'm concentrating on trying to spend as little as possible at the moment, I have a Mr t shop coming tonight and virtually all of it is basics, hopefully there will be some substitutions for better stuff :rotfl:

My achica delivery arrived yesterday, a wreath made of silver birch and a willow heart with a wooden xmas tree hanging off it , looks very nice and only 24p :D I forgot to use the spending app so will start again today as it's the first day I can use the credit card again, will be good to see what a whole month looks like spending wise :D

It's not been a good day, poor dd came home from college very upset tonight. She has become very good friends with a girl from college in the last year, she knew she has serious health problems and has had a lot of time off, but the poor girl has just been told she only has two years left to live.

It's so distressing to hear such terrible news about someone so young, dd I think is in shock as she had no idea it was so serious. :(

It makes me feel feel guilty for stressing over work and money, it really puts it all into perspective.

Thanks, she is ok and trying to focus on what little things she can do to be there for her. It's hard as she feels strange talking about everyday trivia with her friend, but in my experience that's often exactly what is needed - to feel normal.

Dh an dd have to gone to work today, the boys have nothing planned so I thought I'd put the decorations up :xmastree: my parents think its "common" to put them up early but I don't care!

I've put 2 things up Newgirly, a papercut and a garland. I've ordered a few new pieces which should be ready tomoro so be nice for them to go up at their own time. Ourself arrives later with the books and I still can't find the paymobile advent calendar from last year! Also have a nativity advent so best find some free shelf space!

This is why an early start is needed!

It's still early cath, you will get there!

I am going nuts trying to post a photo from theipad today, I found a tutorial on mse, use photo bucket etc. which I've done and I still can't work it out :( it would be so nice to post pics on here , I was hoping to put one up of e tree.

Dh has just gone to work again, not sure how long for today. Not much planned except cooking washing and ironing. Last night I did something silly and ordered takeout pizzas  kids had already eaten, yes that's right  we did get a free one and the kids can have that today at some point. I just felt like it and couldn't face cooking :o

Other unexpected spends are I dropped the iPad on the floor and broke the charger wire so bought a new one £15.

I need to stop spending and use what food we have as I have not budgeted for :

Xmas type dinner for family two weeks today (and plenty of alcohol)

Meal out with two friends , probably prezzo

Xmas girls night out - booked hotel has cancelled as it's just us going so we need to re book somewhere (£32 paid towards it)

Butlins week away spending money for 5 (half board paid for already) but lots of money needed for arcades as they are teenagers and too old for lots of stuff there!

Work xmas do meal disco etc. he is paying for staff from business (hopefully if overdraft covers it!) but think will have to take money for our drinks.

    Xmas pub lunch with mum

Possible xmas pub lunch with best friend

So a long list and no plan , hence why I should not be stuffing my face with takeout pizza Saturday nights :rotfl:

I've just op'd £118 and we are now officially in the £130k's :j

The plan is supposed to be just to save for the moment due to the business plans being undecided, but I could not resist paying it :D total balance £139,999.99 :rotfl:

Have transferred £800 to the isa and am weighing up what to do with the last couple of hundred that's still knocking about.
