I did manage t sort out the council tax and pay it over 12 months now as the law has changed apparently and they have to allow you to do this. I read the meters and found out that they have not set up my elec account yet and all our dd money has been paying just the gas since jan. howeve we still owe £85 gas money , plus whatever 3 and a bit months of electric will be once they have processed the readings, that does not sound good
I also spent a couple of hours trying to sort out he mil's birthday gift, I had bought a "buy a gift" 3 course lunch with wine in London for the parents inlaw, they could not get the voucher to work ( incorrectly entered by them), then they wanted to go on a day to coincide with a theatre trip and the restaurants were all a train ride away and they wanted to walk there, then I found one in the west end, however it was Indian food ( they like bit did not fancy.) Finally they agreed to settle on the Indian and fil informed me they wanted to go for dinner. I explained it was a voucher for lunch ( which was a lot cheaper than dinner, hence why we had to go for it) and he just hurumphed, and said it will have to do and they will have to go another day then. Very annoying , I genuinely thought they would appreciate it as they live in London and there were plenty of options. Bubble bath set next year I think :rotfl:
Oh well, moaning over.

Sometimes you wonder why you bother...
I had no idea the council tax law changed. Can someone please explain to me why it's financially better to pay over 12 months? I' having a another try of the bread maker with a packet bread mix from ald* today. Have also made. A huge Spanish omlette and coleslaw for dinner later. I'm off round a friends for dinner tonight so its all for dh and dd to eat.
I just had a look and there is £6.50 left in my acct out of this months money, it only has to last until Friday though so that's not a problem.
It's much easier to keep an eye on spending using a seperate acct n helpful for tracking where it all gets spent.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Its freezing here today, I have stopped putting the heating on for when the kids get up, they stay in bed until the last possible minute anyway before school, so I have been sticking the fire on down stairs for an hour instead. Eon still have not set up my electric acct which as supposed to bed done by now.
The bread came out perfectly yesterday, so I am going to start buying the ald* packet mix for 59p it makes a large white loaf that is quite fluffy rather than dense like my usual homemade bread used to be, and the smell makes it worth the little effort it takes.
I am off shopping this morning to spend a bit of my leftover birthday money on myself, not sure what to buy yet, something pretty and not useful I thinkthe budget starts again tomorrow so I will go and do an ald* shop. For anyone who also shops there if you buy a daily mirror (or daily record in Scotland) today you get a voucher for £5 off a £40 spend
