Hi lulabelle and cath, thanks for popping in. I bought a g*p hoodie from the outlet store £15 off,and a pair of jeans , a checked shirt and 3 tops for £25 the lot in the new look sale. Using birthday vouchers so free really :j
Less pleasant news though is the dog's water infection has still not cleared up properly, she is almost at the end of her 2nd lot of anti biotics, and had a lot of blood in her urine today, I am waiting for the vet to come out of theatre and ring me back to see what happens next. I am worried about the dog, but also worried about the cost, they are well known for being very expensive vets( I know none are cheap!) and we have no insurance.
Oh well, what will be will be I suppose, let's hope its not too serious.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Hope doggle gets well soon.0

Good luck with the dog and I am glad you got some nice birthday goodies. I know it seems like a slog but you are making it fun as much as you can, and it is worth it in the end. Very good luck.Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D0 -
Congrats on the birthday purchases...
Fingers crossed with both the pooch and the vets bill. It's awful that we have to worry about the bill when we should just be caring for our pets, but vets are terribly expensive and it's hard not to think about the financial impact.0 -
Thanks for popping in alchemilla ,secret squirrel and lulabelle. The vet never rang yesterday, after me calling them twice, I will try ringing again this morning and if no joy I will have to take her in. She still has a few days of tablets left though , so I thought they might say to finish the course before taking her back.
£10 op made from halifax rewards, and £4.23 p made for tomorrow as I think I Might be too busy to do it then. We have the guy coming first thing tomorrow to measure the loft and all the bedrooms ready to draw the plans up. So as I never got round to blitzing the kids rooms yesterday I must do it today.
Not sure what to do for Mother's Day yet, I have bought a couple of presents for her ( and mil of course!) I think will have to have everyone round and cook, but that's going to be tricky on my £10 a day budget, I might go to m&s and have a look at the £15 meal deal, coupled with an ald* chicken and veg it might be enough for 9,and maybe a homemade cake, will have to use 2/3 days budget for this though obviously.
Yesterday I did manage to. Complete most of my to do list (except the kids rooms) so another list for today:
Meal plan Mother's Day lunch
Wrap presents
Check accts and op ................done
Wash everything form last night (basket half full already!)
As above but iron
Clean kids rooms
Our room
Bathroom
Kitchen
Downstairs living areas
Buy food for Mother's Day
Dog walk
Sort out vet
That's it back later.:DMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -

Cheeky! I do and try and be fair but have spent more on my mum this year
Rang the vets and spoke to the pharmacy there , they are getting my vet to ring when free, I will speak to any vet not sure why they insist on me speaking to my elusive vet. Either another course of different antibiotics or investigations  The dog seems fine, apart from having the hump as I won't take her out until it stops raining :rotfl:
Just bought my Mother's Day food, m&s already full of women crowding around the meal deal, I managed to get:
740g rosemary lamb joint in tray
Big pack of honey/mustard parsnips in a tray
Bottle of red
Lemon tart. All for £15
Plus in aldi:
Big big chicken......................£4.79
Choc fudge cake................... £1.49
Plum tart.......... ...................£1.49
2xbags chantenay carrots......£0.49@
Cream................................,.£0.69
Bag spuds.............................£1.75
Mustard.................................£0.49
Swede....................................£0.79
Cauliflower(will make sauce)......£0.89.......total£13.36
Grand total:£ 28.36 or £3.15 per person. I could have probably done it for a bit less, but wanted some posh bit's from m&s. no money until Monday now
I will add some green veg from the freezer, dad is bringing his divine homemade veggie stuffing.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
After 4 phone calls I. Managed to get hold of the vet, the dog is going in Monday for further investigations.:(
Other than that I have spent the day cleaning the house. Ds1 was ill at school so has been home all day, although seems to have recovered now.
I am not sure what to do with regards to planning for the vets bills, I have a feeling it will be a lot more than we can afford. We are still short on the loft money, and owe over 2k on a the cc. I guess the bill will have to go on the cc as well to be paid at a later date, at least it's 0% I suppose.
Perhaps I should move over to the debt free board
Thanks for all the good wishes for the doggie, she seems perfectly happy and her usual self, which may or may not be a good sign, but at least she does not seem upset by it.
Dh is out on a leaving do in London tonight, hopefully not to late as the architect is coming at 9.30 to measure for plans tomorrow, he is not impressed :rotfl:MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
The surveyor has been this morning, 3 hours to measure up everywhere. Is getting close now, and rather than being excited I am a bit nervous as to whether we have done the right thing.
On the plus side dh has dropped the kids at the shopping centre to get me a Mother's Day present while he helps my dad in the dreaded ikea. Due to previous experience when letting the kids go it alone ( consisting if one year getting a size 8 red lace thong along with size 22-24 pj's :rotfl:) I have given dd a little hint about some nice pj's on primarni they could get. I don't want them to buy anything though, the best thing would be a cup of tea in bed and a nice lie in.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0
