A little acct round up and op made today £6.86
For the purposes of the budget it is now december 1st! I'm feeling rich as the new budget is :- £300 grocery
- £100 petrol
- £50 for me
The heating is off and its getting pretty cold during the day, I have been putting it on when the kids are here though, but am glad I got the heated airer as the washing would never dry, we have so much its on pretty much 24/7 at the moment.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
:xmastree::xmastree::xmastree::xmastree::xmastree::xmastree: I have had a busy day today!
Putting up 3 tiny trees in the kid rooms, one snowy small one with blue lights by the fire place, one pop up tree in the hall and a massive one in the living room (silver/white/red) with kids homemade decorations as well.
Its too early I know, but i just wanted it all done as we are so busy this month.:D
I've not had a look at the accts yet today to see if I can op anything, but have managed a nsd, which does not happen often at the moment.
I am swapping my sons and dh for my mum tonight, we are having chilli tomato pasta, they are having take out pizza and football at my parents.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
November ROUND UP:
Start balance mortgage 2012....................£148,958
Balance as at 30th nov............................£147,165.14
Amount paid nov ...........................................£250.67
(£50 charge added to acct due to going back to repayment)
Start balance 0%cc 2012...................................£3268
Balance as at 28th sept...................................£0:j
Total paid off nov...........................£200.67
(plus £50 charge)
Total owed:...................................£147,165.14
Interest per day:...........................£13.26
The above figures show the exact reason why I have decided to go back to repayment from IO , £250 off the balance is TERRIBLE! As of December I will be forced to make monthly payments of £1037 (£405 of that is interest), so at least £632 off the balance per month.
With nov's money I booked a weekend in centerparcs , plus a bit of money set aside for that and when me and dh go away for a weekend next week which I booked for his 40th. Other than these big spends I have been quite good. I've still gone out and bought myself lots of new xmas clothes, but get them home and they either look terrble or I feel guilty and take them back. I highly recommend this type of shopping if you feel like a splurge , its much cheaper :rotfl:MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Well done newgirly sounds like youve been very productive!!!
Lovely to have the xmas decs up - its never too early if you ask me!! :xmastree:0 -
More money spent last night, on a takeaway curry
My aunt was visiting my parents so we just had to join in
Plus the cost of bars of chocolate for the kids as they stayed at home with a fab DD who not only babysat but had a good tidy up and got the boys to do some homework, what a sweetie.
Thank goodness its finally the 1st, we now won't look like the "common" neighbours who put their tree up far to early :rotfl:
Today I am taking a couple of dresses back to the shopping centre for a refund with dh, its the first time we have gone their together all year, he often gets a bit carried away, so I need to keep away from shops that sell films,tv's and games!
Anyway
Happy December 1st everyone! :xmastree::santa2::snow_laug:rudolf:MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
I took back lots of stuff yesterday, bought lunch at c*sta for me and dh , but otherwise no spending
The food budget stands at £260 at the moment, but I do need some meat for the freezer, and I am seriously considerng getting a few fruit and veg boxes again before xmas, yesterday I bought a bag of 5x tangerines from mr t for £2.40  the cheap ones are not as nice but that is over the top, so I might have to splurge at riverford again.
I've done an acct check and op'd £8.69 today, but now have no spending money for the rest of the month for meI will have to ebay some stuff as I have a girls meal out in a couple of weeks which is paid for but I need drinks money ( and lots of it!)
Todays lunch was going to be a joint from ic8land or ald* and homemade roast potatoes, green beans and a fantastic reciepe for red cabbage I made last week:- sliced red cabbage
- 1 apple peeled and chopped up small
- 1 onion thinly sliced
- huge glug of red wine
- 2 spoons sugar
- 1/2 spoon of nutmeg
The only problem is I have no red wine, so will have to pick up a bottle of that as well today, oh well never mindMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
I've been looking through some old frugal challenge threads this afternoon trying to get some ideas for stufff I can do next year, I tend to plan lots and only achieve a bit of it.
Last year the things I failed to do that I remember were:- matched betting
- ebaying loads
- growing veg
- making laundry gloop and giving up washing liquid
- surveys
- mini grocery challenges
- batch cooking
I'd also like to sort the garden out, its about 42ft x 19ft , but has a massive log cabin that takes up about 1/3rd of it and also a conservatory that takes up more space, and its all decked which is slippery and a pain to clean up with the dog:eek: So it needs work, but I'd love to be able to grow stuff out there, I'm guessing that paving it and using pots might be the best way with it being so small.
So ideas for next year so far are:- growing some food
- making own bread all the time(have got an electric knife on my xmas wish list)
- ebaying or donating the contents of the loft (around 100 binbags  plus toot)
- making the garden and house nice so I don't want to move all the time
- no big purchases especially cars :rotfl:
- surveys/cashback sites
- joining a grocery challenge (but keeping a decent budget)
- no main holiday, a couple of cheap hotel weekends away instead
- drink a lot less- its naughty and expensive
- cook more different reciepes, mine are repetative so its tempting to eat ready stuff more.
- do some free bingo offers
- start stoozing
