I'm 'oop North' gally & it's a blizzard here atm!! It's not laying though, just been snowing on & off all morning.
newgirly, where are you off to this weekend?? I've been looking at Center Parcs as a pre-Christmas treat when the kids break up from school ~ you're such a bad influence!! :rotfl:'A watched potato will never chit'...0 -
Hi pink Poppy, we are off to startford upon avon fri-sun without the kids :j (I do love them really :rotfl:)
It was a birthday treat from me to dh for his 40th, £150 for a really nice hotel we have stayed in before in town, incl 2 nights dinner, bottle of wine and breakfast. The hotel has rung today to ask if we want to join in their xmas themed do in the banqueting room at no extra charge instead of eating in the restaurant the second night, disco etc. so have decided to do that as we have been to one before with friends a few years ago and it was good.
I have a very strong urge to buy a new outfit now.:D
My new stoozing cc has been approved and has a balance of £3500 available, I should receive it within a couple of days, I was hoping to put about £400 pm on it over 12 months for the grocery and petrol spends, so will have to re-think or get a higher limit later in the year if possible.
Managed to get the reaaaaaaly long tube of j*ffa cakes for dh in mr s this morning for £3 he wanted for xmas, plus have finally found something I want - marm*te gold which has real gold in it, so have asked my mum for that. She was not over the moon at the extent of my list as she has no idea what to get me and nor have I:o
Ps Pink Poppy, we are going for 2 days to cp's for £299 for a 3 bed - next year the cheapest pre-xmas is £669 for 3 nights, so its far cheaper this year!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Hope you enjoy your break, it sounds lovely, hopefully will do your DH the world of good too
Our nearest CP was more than that, I think it was about £350 for 2 days the last time I looked. I know it's expensive but I'd still love to do it, just have to sweet talk my DH as he's not keen.'A watched potato will never chit'...0 -

Thanks for the nice wishes
Nto, I didn't see your post before we went
We had a great weekend, the hotel was lovely, nice food and log fires, I could have stayed longer but we have decided to go back next year
My new "stoozing" cc came through, which over the course of the year if I have worked it out correctly will make me about £50-£60 ish in savings interest plus £17.50 in cashback, not a massive amount but its free money, plus it should be easier running the everyday expenses through there instead of the main current acct.
My mortgage provider has returned the paperwork to change it back from IO to repayment as my signature does not match their records.
Whilst away for the weekend we had (another!) chat about the house/moving/loft etc. and have decided to leave it IO and save towards the loft. Its not likely that we will earn lots more money any time soon, plus we can't re-mortgage to add a loft loan as we can't borrow that much.
We may decide to move in the future but if we save we can do either, wheras if we op we can't do the loft for some time. Its only about the 10th time I've changed my mind on this issue, and it may change again by next month :rotfl:
I need to have a look on the op calculator again and work out a proper plan and set up a direct debit so its not down to self discipline as I'm not too good at that.
Off to tend to ds2 who is off "feeling sick" today, not sure how sick though and feeling a bit better since watching match of the day :cool:MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0
