I have spent a whole afternoon going through new year plans, unfortunatly I seem to be more short on cash than I thought, so need to find £122 to get back in the black this month. No chance of that so it will have to come from the grocery budget in jan. I had planned on using just £100 cash plus the veg box delivery from riverford, but I think I may do without up the cash a bit and go to the farm for the moment.
So for jan its £5 a day all in plus lots of leftover turkey
I now have a new folder with lots of sections- super sad I know- daily spending
- debts
- mortgage
- budget
- monthly challenge
- christmas/birthdays
- up your income 2012 challenge
- grocery challenge
- yearly budget plans
- spare!
Looking back over 2011 I have paid off the following:
£7,203 off the mortgage
£4,057 off the 0%CC
£11,260 total
plus interest on mortgage £5217.
To be honest its not as bad as I though it was going to be, we did also spend a lot having a log cabin in the garden built for the hot tub , plus a new bathroom.
Next year is all about clearing the card/saving or offsetting , we do need to sort the kitchen out as it has a saggy ceiling from the old leaky bathroom and needs smartening up , but i'm resisting dh's comments on needing a whole new kitchen adn i'm going to do it in a more mse way.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
I really must be better at remembering and being organised for Birthdays. I got as far as putting monthly dividers in a folder - but I must actually REMEMBER to get the cards!

Thanks guys, I got very side tracked at the start of 2011 so thought a monthly challenge might force me to focus a bit more without getting too bored doing the same challenge the whole year.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0

They are impressive totals, well done. Looking forward to seeing how you get on with your food budget in January. I worked out ours until payday and there is £64 left for food. Hmm. Might need to be inventive. Hubby's answer? Can't u just use that money ( from other acc) err no darling that's the point of a budget lol0

I have been naughty and ordered some clothes from my jan budget for the kids , a few pairs of boys shorts for summer, some t'shirts and a tracksuit and t'shirt for me as I need to exercise my ever incresing behind in the new year. £33 for 11 items plus free del. Not too bad but my clothes budget is supposed to be £30 per month now, oops
I'm trying not to buy any food until jan, last night I had fridge bottom soup and everyone else had leftover xmas dinner from mums (had been frozen first), today i am not sure what to do, i wonder if baileys and shortbread biscuits is a healthy diet for a young family:D
Dh is back at work today , although he has decided for the rest of this week to do his actual working hours which means he will be home around 1 or 2 instead of the usual 7 ish, its crazy thinking of howmany extra hours he puts in un-paid.
I should be tidying and washing but I can't seem to get off mse at the moment, I really want to take another look at the matched betting advice again at some point today, it has to be worth a try.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Argh! been on rightmove again. There is a cottage a few doors up from our old one but with only 2 bedrooms for just £170K, it has a cellar, a huge garden and is in a lovely village about 20 mins away, it is so cheap we could afford to build a massive extension like the neighbours have, it also needs modernising. I want it, and I want it now.:DMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0
