I don't know what is wrong with me, I think its some kind of cabin fever due to being housebound over the xmas period. I do NOT want to move.:p
However after jumping on the scales for the first time in a while i know what i do need to do. I cannot believe how much I have put on in the last 2 years. New year is going to have to be the start of a healthier me, I just don't know whether to attempt " eating healthily and exercising a bit more" like i have tried half heartidly (sp) this year, or to go on a full on diet like I did about 3 years ago which resulted in me losing nearly 2 stones. I know which is the most sensible route, but i'm not sure if I have any self control.
My puttng on weight seems to co-incide with when I started to be better with money and joined mse! If only I cold eat ready prepared food from m & s it wold be so much easier.:DMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
I know what you mean it seems so expensive to eat healthier( or maybe thats just my excuse)

Feeling a bit rough the last few days so have net been on here much, I can't believe its new years eve already!
I have not bought anything in the sales except the clothes from the cheap online sports place and also a how to learn crochet kit that was half price on amazon, pretty good for me.
My binder is ready to go and it includes a daily spending diary sheet which is the thing I am most likely to not bother with/cheat etc.:D I DO need to stick to it though to shock me into spending less on random things (like wine)
Hoping to also start a new year health kick as well but am not that organised yet with what I will eat, so may start with trying to cut down a bit and walking the dog a lot more.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
I m not organised either for my health kick. i have so much food and sweets in doors that i think i will have to just eat proper meals and exercise more (now thats a dirty word):D
Hope you have a lovely evening.:DMAKE £2022 in 2022 no 29 £2022/£434.10

i feel you pain on the health kick front. I've put on just shy of 2 and a half stone since I've been with OH, and a stone of that has been in the past 18 months. I'm still under 10 stone (by the skin of my teeth) so I feel like a bit of a fraud on the weight loss threads here, but I'm the biggest I've ever been in my life and it's slowly starting to show, especially around my middle.
Even more worrying is how desperately unfit I am, and that's something I REALLY need to tackle in the NY. Perhaps we can nag each other to step away from the biscuit barrel and closer to the gym?know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0 -
Hi Newgirly, love the diary and very impressive repayments for 2011 :T:T:T
I love your January £100 challenge too - I'm thinking along similar lines myself, so will subscribe to your diary for tips.
As for weight loss...well, that's the New Year's Holy Grail isn't it? I started mine in November and lost 7lbs (only to put 2lb back on) Anyway, the turning point for me is regular exercise (Jillian Michaels DVD's and running club, so relatively :money:) and also I've signed up to free emails from Flylady's Mr No Excuses, Jonathan.
So I'm in on the motivating/nagging each other
Happy New Year!0 -
Thanks guys, some support/ nagging might help! I sadly am past 10 stones, but would like to get back there, if I was 6ft 5 I would probably be my perfect weight.:D
Fit new year , here we come.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Im with you on the weight loss challenge (2st seems to be about the being-with-OH amount huh?) I am over 10st (was under 8st when I first started dating mrtyo back in the day! somewhere in the middle would be fine so am aiming for 9stone!)
Also have lots of xmas chocs left in the house so need to figure out a plan around that am gonna try and stick mostly to weightwatchers points as did that once before and it kinda worked (when I stuck to it!)0 -
Good luck with the losing weight challenge....I desperately need to get fitter, fortunately no weight to lose, but after a long walk with the dogs yesterday, my muscles are aching in ways that just shouldn't be happening!!! Now that I have stopped the smoking, I am going to stop the drinking and increase the excercise etc....so will join you on your mission!!!

Good, the more the merrier! I don't really like exercising but would like to try this year, i would love to be able to wear a size 10-12 by the end of 2012 as I have a couple of nice posh dresses in that size i would love to wear again, I am currently a very unfit size 14.:(MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0
