If your flight has been cancelled outright you are of course entitled to a full refund from the airline.
Its a package holiday, so guess got to wait the 12 hrs, they won't cancel at the mo, the travel agent saying the flight company are saying delayed....
Sorry again for another question, (half empty approach), but if the airline cancels do you know roughly how long it is for a payout or would I have to go through ins. Its such a pain trying to get single room supplement, at the best of times, without paying through the nose for the pleasure. xxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -

I'm not sure as I'm not so hot on the rules to do with package holidays... you should get a refund for the full cost of the holiday in one payment. I would say 7 days is a reasonable timescale as that's what the airlines are allowed when you deal directly with them.
P.S. If the flight is cancelled the package holiday operator may choose to rebook you on a different flight/airline in the afternoon or evening I think (if there are any). But as far as I can see the original airline still has to supply you with food & drink in the meantime. Quite an odd little scenario.0 -

Well we were meant to be flying to Jamaica yesterday ... oh well .... after 3 hours in a queue we managed to get the last 2 seats on a flight to Miami on Saturday afternoon - then we have just over 2 hours (tight) connection to Jamaica .... but looking at the reports today, I suspect we will be going no-where!!! Can not see this moving yet.
But what must be worse is that there were numerous passengers who had come from places like Germany / Denmark - who were stuck - BA could nor rebook them till some time early next week - yet were not prepared to help them in any way - which I didn't think was very good.

My parents are in benidorm, meant to be flying back tonight. They're unsure of whether they should be going to the airport or just booking more accomodation and sorting it when home. I've just phoned Co-op travel who advised to go to the airport anyway and see whats happening although when I asked about Ryanair she admitted that they hadn't got any feedback as to what had been happening with the airlines.
I'm tempted to tell my Dad to bus it out to the airport leaving my Mum and the kids in resort. I don't see the point in them dragging the kids to Alicante airport (which is likely to be manic) for them to be turned away.
Do you think they'd be able to claim the money back if they just book to stay in their room, they're obviously not going anywhere?0 -
I am stranded in Germany. I can't find a way of contacting Easyjet. My travel insurance is invalid. I've rebooked for tomorrow, but if that doesn't work, i'll need to drive or catch a train.0
