Thanks to all re my biop results.
Been using my breadmaker the last two weeks and have noticed two things:
1, I eat less, as the homemade stuff seems more substantial, I make it two part white flour to one part granary and works out yum!
2. More room in my freezer, I used to keep a white and brown loaf in freezer and just take out what I needed.
The breadmaker is brill, easy to use and my concern at the beginning was "is it cheaper" judging by how little ingredients I've used so far I would say it is very OS
Anyway off to make sannies and packed tea for work.0 -
Taplady, been trawling through all my birdstuff and looks like a sparrowhawk and gosser will take birds in flight, in an opportunistic way. still pretty unusual tho.
Keep me infod of any more "visits"0 -
Snoozer - I've got 10 adults coming at the weekend! I'm kind of hoping the weather will be good so we can get outside hence the buffet/bbq idea, but the idea of making a chilli in advance is good one! Thanks xxSometimes that mountain you've been climbing is just a grain of sand,

Morning (just about
)
Last day today of having 4 kids (sorry but yipee!) they are lovely but it's so limiting as we can't get anywhere unless my mum takes my two in her car and comes with me.
Bloomin' cold and breezy here, no sunshine eitherGot a load of denim to dry and I think it will take most of the day to dry a little bit so airer will end up back in our room
Done no baking this week. Mum helped me do a load of cleaning yesterday so feel bit better about that. Not a great deal of OS going on
Tap class night was FABULOUS!!!! Puts the other class to shame. I can even remember my time step and break :j T:jhey are doing a display in October and they asked me if I was interested in performing  Been a long time since I've done a display :rotfl:
NPM - I am lucky as DS is pretty flexible most of the times in his routine. I feel for you both though, how on earth do you manage during the summer?? xxxx
Hester - Hugs for you and H. What a pain in the proverbial.
stroppyjock - I think HM bread (even pure white) is FAR more filling than shop bought bread, even stuff from the in-store bakeries aren't as filling.
Diva - Hope you are doing OK x
Right it's feeding time at the zoo so will have to dash. Try and catch up later.
Hugs to those that need them. Have a good day OS or not.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Hi Bitsy...great news on the tap dancing:T
I must admit am not looking forward to the summer:o, his dad only has him every other weekend still so that doesnt give any chance to rest really. He is calmer today than yesterday when we were going out as he is better doing things around the house and garden....that makes a long 6 weeks though:eek:
I can get absolutely nothing else done and it has been a lifesaver having HM bolognese sauces and meatloaves and things in the freezer. Was just thinking this morning I will have to do some forward planning before the summer hols and get freezer empty to do some batch cooking to last over the summer hols...may do some HM burgers of various flavours and freeze them too.
He is now watching Horrid Henry so I have 20 mins before the madness starts again.....spent an hour this morning with him watching clips of Chris Evans on youtube_pale_:whistle: ( not by my choice by the way):o0 -
Hi all
A late one from me today as I've been busy doing some more housework, ironing & helping DH to hang a new bedroom door :rotfl:
Lunch was a cream cheese & red pepper sandwich followed by a slice of weetabix cake and tea is chicken curry, rice & naan. I cook the chicken then split it into 2 pans to make the sauces as DS1, DH & I all like a hotter curry than DD, DS1 & DS3. I make the sauces the same way but just add more coconut milk & less chilli to the milder one :money:DS1 is going out to a party tonight with his friend who is home from Uni so his tea will hopefully mop up some of the alcohol
NPM Massive hugs to you hon you do so well in what must be very trying circumstances at times xxxxx There is a programme coming up on BBC3 soon about autism in an adult after a year or similar. I though of you when I saw it xxx
Hugs to anyone else who needs one and hope that everyone is enjoying the sunshine0 -
NPM - I don't know much about your son's condition/limits but have you looked into whether a local/national charity that may offer holidays for your son? So that he could have a week away doing fun stuff, and you would get a rest too?

Hi flutterby.....thanks for the suggestion but am not really keen on the whole respite idea:o...I couldn`t cope with him being away as I like to know he is safe and also he would not settle and I would end up more stressed:cool:
Just had shock of my life as I had to go with DS to local co op for milk....he ran through the shop with me chasing him and ran out of the door to the main road:eek:. He was marched home and given a severe telling off. It was terrifying, he has no idea of danger at all:(. He cannot deal with shops at all but I thought we would be able to quickly nip in for some milk.
Just about to go and sort out pasta for DS tea...OH and I having meatloaf and spicy tomato sauce already prepared from freezer thank god.....just some roast new pots to do.
Sunnygirl...will look out for that programme.....I saw the one the other night about "young, autistic and stagestruck"0 -
All I wanted was beans on toast, not a lot to ask is it? Yes it seems it is.
I had some left over baked beans & so decided to have them on toast for lunch, I was barely into my 2nd mouthful when the home phone rang.
'Hello Madam'
'Hello'
'My name is Alister'
'Madam I'm phoning to tell you about a threat to your computer'
'Thanks but I have security on my computer'
'But Madam, I'm telling you about a new threat, a very rare threat, it is secret threat'
'Well it's not much of a secret if you are phoning me about it'
Long pause my answer wasn't on his script
'Madam this is very rare threat, can't be seen by virus checker, very very rare new threat, only affects Windows users, it is over taking 10 thousand computers every day'
'Not very bloody rare then is it, I'm not interested, goodbye'
I put the phone down & took 2 more mouthfuls of my beans on toast, my mobile rang, it was hubby, I told him I was eating my lunch, he asked me to phone him back when I'd finished, another mouthful of my by now rapidly cooling beans on toast, the mobile rang again, it was a Freegler phoning to arrange to come & collect something.
Another mouthful of my beans on toast & the home phone rang, I answered it assuming hubby had got tired of waiting for me to call him back.
'Hello Madam, My name is Peter & I'm phoning to tell you about a threat to your computer'
'Does it only affect Windows?'
'Yes Madam, but very rare threat, very secret'
'That's ok, I have an Apple!'
I threw my by now stone cold beans on toast away.

Hi there :hello:
Couldn't use the pc at all yesterday due to a problem with Windows after an update, and only had time to read page 1 of the day-before-y'day's thread, so I'm now trying to catch up a bit
stroppyjock - Great to hear your news :j What a long time to have to wait for the result!
Pink_Winged Hope DS2 had a good birthday, and that DS1 got good news at the hospital.
Molly41 - No fillings until 41, that's amazing! You obviously take great care of your teeth.
Hester That's awful! Would they not be willing/able to give your OH an advance of salary until next payday? Leaving you with no money is just not on
((((HUGS)))) to everyone coping with difficult children!
Bitsy Our DGD is 2 and she is quite similar to your DD, I think! Her Mum ignores her when she has a tantrum, but her Dad, who is a SAHD atm, tends to give in to her "because she gets so distressed"She's been like it since she was about 18 months old. Hopefully she'll grow out of it soon (Oh dear, how I do miss the "rolling eyes" smiley!)
I was going to wait a bit longer before digging and planting things, in case the weather turns cold again. Should I be starting it now? I must admit my 82yo neighbour has started digging his veg patch! Bee and Queue had seed potatoes in tioday but I'm not sure abut trying to grow my own spuds, and no doubt they'll all be gone by tomorrow anyway!
I decided to christen my new mixer y'day by making a Victoria sponge - I had bought Flora Buttery on BOGOF and wanted to use some of it up. The cake was fine except that I'd absent-mindedly used "spreadable" butter for the buttercream - of course, as it was out of the fridge, it went all runny and the buttercream ran down the sides of the cake
It still tasted good though
Have dried the duvet covers on the line - I put them out y'day but it was too cold and cloudy to dry them. The sun came out at 4.30, which was too late. Anyway they are dry now and a load of DS's stuff is on the line, though they're not blowing around as much as I'd hoped and will probably still be damp under the arms when I get them in (they're on hangers, pegged to the line.) Actually i might just go out and peg them upside down for a while0
