Hi there! This is the Daily Thread for 15th April. It is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Dailys' live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good.
Morning
HI..All is well here. Another nice day forecast, but I have to work.... Last day though and then 3 days off. Pay day too..
I have to get fuel today which I am sure is rising at 1p a day. last re-fill was 6 days ago and I paid 116 and today it's 122. It's sure to mean that everything will go up like last time... including cost of fishing trips:eek:
Time to get the bins out and head in to the office.... cheers folksd

Keeping my fingers crossed for another beautiful day - yesterday was glorious! DH and I had one of those days when everything was funny and we giggled like a pair of kids all day
Few MSing jobs today, day off tomorrow then a busy Saturday which includes an audit at a store inside the airport so I have to fing the paper part of my licence....have an awful feeling I've put it 'somewhere safe'!
Diva hope you are restoring yourself to full fitness and hope to see the purple today
Veg bag came yesterday when I was out agian so I'll owe him three weeks next time!! might send him a cheque in the meantime - don't like owing him money!
I have a target in my head of getting back to work for Monday 26th April so might speak to my boss about even working half days the Monday and tuesday to break me in gently! I won't want to go back if I don;t get on with it soon!
OS content for the day???....I'll get back to you on that one
Have a good day xClimbing back on the OS wagon after a short vacation to Recklessness

Morning all,
Very cold here this morning, there is a very cold wind. I am off to work today, dd is off to my sisters for the day, they are going food shopping and to see a new mum who has just had her 7th baby .
Chip night tonight, will go and look in the freezer in a while to see what we have.
Last night was lkea meatballs with HM tomato sauce and spaghetti, it was delish, I do love their meatballs.
I had a funny dream in the night, which ended up in me shackling the bedside cabinet violently, everything got knocked off, including my glass of water, bedside lamp face cream etc, the water went everywhere the carpet is soaked, and the lamp is broken, it made perfect sence to be doing it in the night :rotfl:
Meant to say to stropyjock, well done on the test results :T brilliant news.
Need to do a wash tonight, and have a good clean in the kitchen.
Have good days all xx0 -
Morning all
Bright & sunny here, but a bit breezy, I'll have to look for some washing to do, it's a shame to waste this lovely drying weather.
Yet another financial crisis here, thanks to hubby's company not paying his expenses, we are now owed £300 & have £8 left to last us the month. Cupboards & freezer are full so we won't starve, but I'm so bloody fed up with being skint through no fault of our own.
Have a good day everybody.
Hugs Hester

Morning N9eav and jc2703 and all that follow.
I feel your pain N9eav, I filled up last night at 122 as well, even my heating oil for the house has went up 10p since 25 January, when will it stop? Unfortunately there is very little we can do about it tho :-(
What does surprise me is that the haulliers haven't done any blockades etc, they seemed to kick off for a lesser price last time (not that I want them to as that causes too many problems on its own!)
JUst listening to news and it's chaos in the skies today, due to the volcanic eruption in Iceland, hope no OS'ers had any flights planned today.
OS today will be breadmaking and balancing my accounts, payday tomorrow and still money in wallet and bank account :-) and lots of food to be used up so I'm going to try and not break into my wages til next Tuesday.
Anyway hope everyone has a nice day, whatever you are doing, and will keep on popping in throughout the morning.

Good morning everyone,
I have an appointment at the solicitors today to sign my will. DH didn't make a will, but that asn't a problem as everything came to me. I have the house elf to consider, and my sister has agreed to have him should anything happen, as her children are older, and so is the elf so they would be able to cope now. After that I'm going to have my hair cut as I'm starting to look like an Old English sheepdog.
Finally, I will be coming home to tidy the slum that we live in. Two weeks school holidays and then me going into work for three days has caused chaos. I can cope with it for a while, but then the urge to restore order overwhelms me :rotfl:.
I will also be cooking a chicken, and making some spag bol for the freezer for Grumpy. It's one of his favourite meals, and there's so much veg that can be hidden in it
Take care all of you0 -
Good Morning All
Hester - hope the money comes in asap
Seems like a nice day out there, yesterday was quite chilly.
Plans for today - office this morning, try to get another doc's appointment - this time for me. Then pop over to my stepdad's this afternoon as its his birthday. Probably with be a very unOS KFC for tea
Took DS to a boxing club last night, he's wanted to do it for ages. Was very scary! But he loved it and apparantly has some natural talent he's meant to go for 3 sundays on a trot so we will have to wait till the football has finished. Good thing was its only £2 for 2 hours so very MSE.
Oh well, better go and check my banks online, hope there is no nasty surprises....................x0 -
I have a cauliflower to use up - suggestions in the box pleaseClimbing back on the OS wagon after a short vacation to Recklessness
