Hi everyone,
I'm waiiting for DD to come online, she said that she'd Skype me today. I'm still not feeling too good and still feeling guilty about it.
I'm going to have another quiet day to see if I can shake whatever it is off. Salmon pesto pasta for dinner tonight, I just hope DH gets home a bit earlier than last night (9.30 and he left again this morning at 6.00).0 -
I have a target in my head of getting back to work for Monday 26th April so might speak to my boss about even working half days the Monday and tuesday to break me in gently! I won't want to go back if I don;t get on with it soon!
Why not do 2 half days at the end of that week, then go back to maybe 10-3 after the Bank Holiday (4 day week), and then full days? The advantage is that we have another Bank Holiday a few weeks after, so you can cath up with yourself againI have a cauliflower to use up - suggestions in the box please
Cheese?
or Aloo gobi - we had some at a friend's house a few weeks ago with spinach in, sort of saag aloo gobi that was scrummy0 -
Morning all!
Hester, I have to say that I think that’s shocking. Sounds like OH’s employer needs to pull his/her socks up!
OH is still laid up with a sprained ankle (and I’m trying to figure out why he can play on Facebook but can’t do the accounts. Surely accounts don’t involve ankles in any way…). He’s managing to do some work as he can drive, it’s walking (especially on the uneven ground of building sites) that’s a problem. So he’s ferrying people around a bit.
I’m tempted not to tell you what OSiness I have planned – everytime I type it I suddenly don’t get it done! I did get to the post office yesterday to send some parcels (I count this is OS because I could have sent e-vouchers or something. Post Offices are surely Old Style). Must, must, MUST ‘phone the solicitor today and get some details from her. I have a voucher for free delivery from sainsbugs that expires next week so might try and get an online shop done. Not sure I can count online shopping as OS, but it’s MS so I’m going with it. Might also plant some tomato seeds (OS) that I got for free (MS) by clipping a coupon (OS) from a magazine.
Dinner tonight is pie, veg and mashed potatoes. Lunch is LO pasta bake from last night.
Hugs to all,

morning all!
2 days off:j
plans for today are to clean at Mums this morning then later we are possibly taking Big Bertha my old Honda to the scrapyard - been offered £80 for it. I shall miss the old girl as she's been very reliable but was getting too expensive to run - fuel wise and also needed lots doing for the MOT.
We're popping into Hereford to get DS some trainers and do a spot of grocery shopping so will decide whats for tea later.
Hester - hope you get DHs expenses soon x
Diva - :hello:
I keep asking but nobody seems to know how PennyPincher is! I do hope she's ok.
off for a quick browse no while I have my coffee xDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Morning all ,
MSD - hope you're ok xx
Hester - get your DH to speak to his work; they'll have to arrange a CHAPS transfer as it's not acceptable that you're out of pocket due to their incompetence.
snoozer - don't feel guilty for being poorly - it'll only delay you getting better xx
Have got to make a decision today about what to cook for DH's do on Saturday!! Problem is, freezer space is very limited so I have to do it all at last minute. Just cannot decide whether it's going to be warm enough to warrant a bbq or not - I hate being cold!!! It might be easier to do a sort of buffet I suppose thinking about it! Aaargh it's a bit of mare trying to plan stuff when you're not in your own house!
OS wise today I've sent DH off to Tesco's with a list (I love it when I can delegate) and I need to iron a couple of bits when I get in. Tea tonight is whatever DH cooks so patently something he can just chuck in the oven as if you can't cook it from frozen, he doesn't want to know...
Fingers crossed for a bit more sunshine please, hugs to all xxSometimes that mountain you've been climbing is just a grain of sand,
What you've been out there searching for forever is in your hands0 -
I managed to talk to DD, it wasn't the greatest connection though, I could hear her but not see her very well and vice versa for her so I ended up typing my end of the conversation.
Skype is fantastic when it works well but of course it's very dependant on the connection. Japan was great (as you would imagine), Australia not very good with slow connection speeds, NZ was patchy and Cambodia's been a bit patchy too. Still it's fantastic and while it can't possibly be OS it is money saving.
Lowesy, how many are coming. I should thik you could safely cook things like chilli or a gammon now and leave them in the fridge.0 -
We're having a better week behaviour wise from the boys so I'm feeling less stressed. We had a lovely visit to a small museum where the boys got to make little mosaics. We also had a trip to the shoe shop DS1 is now in size 2 shoes (he's 7). As usual they had nothing that would fit him so I've ordered some shoes in, they also had nothing that would fit DS2 so I had to do another order for him. We may need to do a trip to Newcastle to find some. Yesterday the boys had a lovely time playing in hte sandpit. we also took DH to the airport as he had to go to Copenhagen with work, I'm now worried about whether he will manage to get back tomorrow!
Hugs to all that need them0 -
Morning all....................(((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))) if you need one.
A bit of a dull morning and its quite cold again. Back to porridge for brekkie this morning, I have been using up some brabflakes and muslie, its cheaper for us both to have porridge.........I am on a bit of a cut down right now, Its going to cost us £150 to have a couple of plumbing jobs done. Both are our resposibility but difficult due to queer plumbing in the cottage.
We have an appointment with the nurse this morning BP again, I know mine is up and she is going to ask me to see the Dr. OH needs to get his finger out and get the BP monitor, he was supposed to ring and see if one was avaiable, he has not done so....I am being a bit bolshy just now and not doing things for him, I am his wife not his blooming mother!!!!! I have enough to cope with his dizzies, it time he took responsibility for himself.
Not sure what else the day holds, macoroni cheese jacket spuds and baked tomato for supper, I have got that far, will make the MC when we get back. Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Morning All,
Not had chance to post the last coupl of days or even catch up so hope evryone is ok.
Couple of days off for me now Phew! I'm shattered, you soon get out of being at work all day. Its been lovely to see everyone and catch up and with the sun shining its not been too bad at all:D My boss has been fine as well, I was worried about that but its been ok.
Well off to town with DS3 today as I have promised him a day out just the 2 of us. We will probably visit the museum as its free to get in and then probably have lunch out. I also want to get a pressie for my nephew in Australia and get that posted off.
Have my SS and his wife coming for dinner on Saturday. Starter is smoked salmion and soft cheese on brown toast, main is chickeen and chorizo spicy stew with rice and I'm thinking of Delia's chocolate mouse and hm biscuits for dessert. Has anyone tried it? Anyway must get on.
Have a good day everyone J xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Morning all,
Crazy busy as normal here - as going away for a week in my job means your running catchup for the next one. We've had a conference all week so it's draining mentally and I haven't had the energy to do the lab work too (mainly because the conference dinner and the after-party always kill me, so I guess it's my own fault!). Our sponsors are pleased with us though - so it looks like they will be hiring some more people.
Hester - hope you get it sorted soon
OS will involve OH cleaning the flat. It looks horrific. As it is his mess and his freinds are coming over on Saturday, it will be his job as I always do it. His friend is coming over at the weekend - I'm not sure I really need that, but hey ho.
I have a large folksy order to do and another fairly big commission to negioatate, which is nice. I am halfway through the first one. Breakfast was crakers for me, lunch will be a sandwich and tea will be something quick for me as OH is out for his conference dinner tonight. I need to spruce the kitchen up as it is stll coevered in icing sugar. have a good day all, cel x:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0
