  • I am a bridezilla and my new confession is that I wish everyone would stop telling me I am doing too much myself! We have 10 months till our wedding so I am cracking on with designing invites and making table decorations and everyone seems to think I should stop and just pay someone else to do it. And I wish ppl would stop talking about me behind my back, enough comments at work atm about how I've picked stuff too early and will regret it! Argh! Xxx

I'm so glad it isn't just me! Obviously, I'm not glad your bridesmaid doesn't give a hoot - but seriously, I know the feeling. I've asked my bridesmaids to pick their own dresses, pick the fabric and the design and I will make them for them (as I'm making my own dress too) The 7 & 9 year old bridesmaids have been BRILLIANT and told me EXACTLY what they want. My adult bridesmaid and MoH just keep saying to me 'oh, whatever you want' - what I want, is for them to pick something. And it just feels like if they can't even be bothered about their own dresses, how are they going to be bothered about anything else.

Also passing the under six month mark last week has put me into major freakout mode - and I know that other people plan weddings in less time, but I have 5 bridesmaids dresses to make, and 1 wedding dress (which admittedly, I've started already) and very few free weekends over the summer!

And my mother came to see the venue at the weekend, which is good, because now she likes the venue, but bad because she keeps saying 'oh, you should do this, and you should do that' and no, what I should do, is what I've already decided on, because that's what I want... ARGH

Ok, maybe I hadn't acknowledged how stressed I was before I started typing this... apologies, because apparently I'm really stressed!

My sympathies but I COMPLETELY understand all of this. I wake up every morning with an impending sense of dread, its getting worse.. I am SOOOO excited about marrying H2B but I am dreading how much there is left to do..

I don't know what to do about my bridesmaid. I am sorting my hen do myself as its quicker (my own doing I know) but have asked her to sort out a night out with work (we both work in the same department at a Hospital) and she has invited 2 people I specificaly asked her not to as I don't get along with them, has refused to invite one of the people I want there 'because she's ignorant and I don't want to talk to her' (include her in a circular email, I'm not asking you to go round to her house and have a cuppa!!) and I've done most of the leg work to coordinate peoples availability myself..

I feel for you with your Mother - has she settled more into the idea that you want a casual feel to the day now?
I am a groomzilla and my confession is I am worried my mate's wife will make a scene yet again, she will be almost due to have the baby ( Due 2 weeks after the wedding) and she will want all the limelight.

Have you made sure she is sat right at the back 'for a swift exit should the baby decide to make an appearance'? Then she is out of the way and has less chance of causing drama to ruin your day? You may also want to ask a friend (who is not friends with her) to run 'interferance' should it be necessary...

We do not get along with the Best Man's girlfriend and whilst we haven't invited her to the day time we have invited her (under duress from Best Man) to the evening.. We have then asked a few other friends to make sure she is kept out of our way as she is the sort to drink too much and cause drama to try upset us...

You can NEVER do things too early!! I have done a lot myself as well and although I must admit it has added stress to me, its nice that our wedding has a personal touch to it - also it has saved us money! :money:

What I would say is try to make sure things are done now whilst there isn't quite so much pressure and don't be afraid to rope people in to help where ever you can!

If I knew 3months ago that I would be posting this I would be so ashamed but....

I'm a bride zilla and actually just asked the wedding coordinator at the hotel to take pictures of the ceiling vents in the room we're getting married so I know what I can hang and where for decorative purposes...

    That sounds so bad!

I am a bridezilla and my confession is I asked the wedding planner at my venue to measure the napkins so that I could make sure our napkin rings fit *perfectly*... and then I made her send me one just to be sure :o

They say "permanent adhesive" the lady at the hotel said we're allowed to use the ceiling vents (not in any order!) and white tack, that's it :( x

This is my thought exactly! And because I'm fussy and picky and want it all to look a certain way I'd rather do It myself! Have got quite a lot done already with designing and going to order the rest of the stuff so I can start making this month and that will keep me occupied for a while :) I've asked bridesmaids to help with putting stuff together in the summer after everyone's holidays so were gonna have a weekend of it so that the invites are ready to go out on 1st sept xxx

Good luck with everything! I hope your bridesmaids are better than mine - I am about ready to give up altogether on mine.

How many of you have said to yourselves in the past few months (as I have) 'I NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD GET LIKE THIS'... I am stressed out about the fact that I am stressed out lol x
