I'm feeling your pain about the RSVPs. Got all the day RSVPs back, but apparently if I've invited you in the evening its ok to not bother sending one back! The majority of evening guests havent replied so far so I'm not happy! Only 17 days to go too!!!0

We are getting RSVP's back for the evening - and we don't really care if we get them or not, we got them printed wrong - there was not meant to be an RSVP date on them!
17 days - ahhhhhhWeight loss challenge, lose 15lb in 6 weeks before Christmas.0 -
We wanted them back so we could give numbers for the evening buffet, but since nobody has bothered to reply we've had to hedge our bets with lower numbers. I just feel like now that if it runs out, it runs out, there will be plenty of cake!0

I really wish I was only having a buffet we are having a sit down meal so I really need the numbers to work out how much it's going to cost

We're having the sit down meal too, but thankfully we got all the day RSVPs back on time, except for 3 which came in on that week. It's just so strange to me, whenever I've had a wedding invitation for day or evening, I've been so excited that I send it back straight away.0 -
Glad you got them back at least
Nope we are still waiting and it's mainly OH family & friends grrrrr
Plus a few people we have invited have since split up & have new partners who we haven't met so I don't know what is happening there??

I didn't realise you needed RSVP's for evenings (she says quietly in the corner). If it's a buffet do you think it's different? I was just gonna tell people and they could turn up?Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0

We asked for RSVPs for the evening (we put a little rsvp card in with the invitation which also asked for a song request), I wouldnt have had any idea otherwise how many people to cater for, we invited probably 110, we knew in the end about 80 people were coming so catered for 70- I wouldnt have had a clue otherwise!! There would have been quite a difference in the amount of food served and cost for 110 than the 70 people we did cater, so it would have been wasted and an added expense.0 -

I was just going to cater for about 50-75% of people invited
I've done the song request too :j I'm 'hoping' to make a 'you've been listening' wall plaque with the songs and guests names beside who picked the songsForty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -

My ex and I were engaged and had started to plan our wedding about 3 months before we broke up. The planning was left to me so I chose burgundy as the colour, Preston Hall as our venue and we were going to use a limo so we could travel with the parents and bridesmaids. He got married in 2007 and had everything I had chosen for our wedding which didn’t bother me at the time as I wasn’t planning a wedding. Fast forward to 2010 and when OH and I started planning our wedding and I got a little annoyed at the fact that my pig of an ex used MY ideas. OH wanted to get married at the same venue, I wanted burgundy and we were considering using a 7 seater so we could fit all the bridesmaids in with my Dad and I.
After venting to my maid of honour and a little bit of !!!!!iness, we came to the conclusion that:
1). They were my ideas in the first place so I have the right to use them without feeling like I am copying
2). My wedding will be much nicer than theirs. I saw some photos on my friends facebook page and (this could be the child in me, haha) it was tacky and cheap looking.
3). They are divorced now so I guess karma came and bit him in the butt for stealing my ideas.
It’s amazing how after a bit of !!!!!iness everything seems less important.
Oh and why can't the register office answer the bloomin' phone when I want to book our appointment to give notice.... don't they realise how important this is!!!
Thanks for the sympathies! I wish I could do some real b1tching, I don't really have any 'close' female friends apart from my mum (who hated my ex anyway!) so I've just sounded off to a few people who just nodded politely and gave me a look of pity:rotfl:.
You are right though, this is what H2B and I planned and it's what we wanted so I am sticking with it, fortunately they are very different shades of purple and there is little chance he will ever see my pictures anyway!
Urgh at registry office, I had that problem too and when I did get through, they were booking 6 weeks ahead! It's not irrational it's totally natural i'd be upset too
The most annoying thing is I didn't want purple I want blue but blue wouldn't have gone with my dress & purple is OH's fav colour So he one & I'm stuck with a colour that everyone else wants lol
Thanks for making me feel normal, I really thought I was going off on a tangent or someone would question why I was SO annoyed by it! Bless you for not wanting purple, am interested in your dress now as you said purple won't goWhy do people think it is to not send back their RSVP, especialyl when they aren't going.
I text a few friends yesterday, and one replied saying that they couldn't make but that she had wanted to tell me in person - !!!!!!, it 2 1/2 weeks to the wedding - when was she planning on letting me know!
I have to hold my hands up here and admit that I have previously not been the fastest RSVP-er although that to an evening reception and not a full day. We still haven't given out our STDs yet, oops! I think I will have to ask people to RSVP as we might have some over capacity issues so we might have to do it in stages. I think I will ask them to do it through our just married page
Very happily married on 10th April 2013
