  • Thanks jtr2803, I don't think you're being BZ at all really - he got me a ring and then we mucked about for at least 3 years before making any wedding plans, we kept saying 'next year' until this year :) He needs a smacked botty and to go shopping asap!! (in my opinion)

Grr I know its been said before but now its my turn, just because your 'best' friends son invited us to his wedding doesn't mean we have to invite them to ours mil! They are coming to the night do an that's that! were only having close family and friends there not least because of the price we can't afford everyone and even though you offered to pay the extra it doesn't mean the other 4 people id like at the day do can come does it? no so stop being rude!
I am not bossy I just have better ideas:p

    Arrgh BZ rant!

WHY do i have to book everyone else hotel rooms?! Mum keeps ringing with 'oh and I told so and so that you'll sort them one of the discounted rooms out...' WHY CAN'T THEY CALL THEMSELVES?!

Please wait for your invitation to arrive which will contain all of the information about parking! Stop asking me now it's 4 months away!

No I will not invite somebody just because Dad thinks I should. I've already got more people than the package provides for and have had to double the cost of the ceremony room as everybody wouldn't fit into the original one!

I'm sorry that MIL feels the wedding money could be better spent elsewhere but - why does she care?! It's our money and I don't remember asking for her opinion.

Everybody keeps saying I'm very laid back about the wedding, but in reality I just keep it all to myself and rant on here instead!

I'm completely with you on this one; my sister and brother-in-law, both very clever, successful, and capable people, keep asking me about hotels. OK, so the wedding is in the city I live in, and BiL has never been here before, but if they were going on holiday to a strange city they would sort themselves out without needing local assistance! And, given that I live here, I don't really know anything about hotels here, never having cause to stay in one because, well, I LIVE HERE!! We've put details of local hotels on our website, what more do you want?? How is it that normally intelligent, well-travelled people suddenly need everything done for them when it comes to weddings???

Exactly!! My venue have given some rooms at a reduced rate and all people have to do is call and book! It's really very straightforward but I've already booked 5 rooms now. Might start refusing these requests.

DON'T BOOK ROOMS for your guests!!! They need to call and book themselves - then they will be landed with paying for it (extremely important if they don't show up!!!).

I agree with what you're all saying btw - some of our guests have been just as bad. Reverting to helpless babies! :rotfl:

Thanks so much double mummy!!!! It is hard going but sooo worth it. I've lost 12.5lbs so far, am aiming for another 3-4 before the wedding (3.5 weeks away!). I'm really pleased with myself. My weight stalled for a while (got complacent) but I am making one last big push now :D

Yep - tell anyone who asks that you just don't have time & to ask a proficient 'googler' for help if needed.

FGS I have disabilities but booked a 7 week trip to Asia for 2 using phone & internet!!
