It surely is common courtesy, and it's a shame some people haven't just emailed/phoned/sent you a note/told you in person - especially when you're feeding them a sit-down meal!
naughty guests!
For my 3rd, 4th & 5th weddings I won't have any!! :rotfl:0 -
I am so glad that we are only having closest friends and family for the reception meal, I probably won't even ask them to RSVP as I know they are pretty much all coming! It is rude not to reply though.........
I had a comedic bridezilla moment earlier...bit of background...
We live in a top floor flat, there are a couple with a daughter below us who are just a bit odd...they seem to think as we live in the same building then we should all be best friends , it doesn't help that I really don't like their daughter (I know I sound awful) but she is a terror...has massive tantrums during the night, buzzes our door and runs off and all sorts. I am always polite and say hello but won't get drawn into conversation with them, they are my neighbours, not my friends! Anyway, OH always winds me up about it and he often gets caught with them for HOURS as they chew his ears off.
Earlier this afternoon I could hear OH in the front room talking to someone, I saw him leaning over the door guard talking to someone outside and assumed it was the man from the bottom floor as he was talking about work and they do similar jobs. The conversation got onto holidays and then OH just tells him that we are getting married next September so will be saving up for that
You might be wondering WHY I wasn't happy about this....- We haven't formally announced our engagement yet, I have asked if we can and OH said not yet so I have (maybe naively) thought he still wanted to do the whole presenting of a ring and was maybe waiting for our 4th anniversary or holiday. Some of my friends don't even know yet and he's telling the weirdo from downstairs!!! Eurgh
- Out of all the people I wouldn't tell out of fear of them thinking they might be invited...it's this lot! There is NO way they are coming, even to the evening. Again, might sound harsh but it's a pub reception and the room we have might only just hold the people I DO want to come.
- Now I expect I will get the Spanish inquisition every time I see one of them cos they are proper nosey parkers...where, when, what dress have I got....Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Very happily married on 10th April 2013

[*]no receiving line,
We decided on no receiving line but people made one anyway. :rotfl: No one told them either way so they just did it.
Between my wedding and honeymoon, I was a little Wifezilla for 2 reasons.
1) I was really annoyed at my 'friend' who said he was really looking forward to coming to the wedding and then just didn't turn up.
2) I did all the planning for the wedding. MIL made one decision and also tried to put us off hiring the chocolate fountain which everyone loved. Her family have written her letters thanking her for organising a wonderful wedding and no mention of me (apart from saying I looked nice). She also got flowers and chocolates etc. I got nothing. Talking to her, she seems to think that she did most of the organising and I know there will be nothing I will say that will change her mind. Before seeing these letters I didn't mind that no one said anything about the organisation but since seeing someone else congratulated for the hard work I did, I wanted some recognition.
Anyway since spending 2 weeks in paradise, I don't really care about those 2 things any more.0 -
I'm an (unexpected) bridezilla and keep [STRIKE]crying[/STRIKE] screaming and threatening to call it off when my oh doesnt show enough enthusiasm about the bouquets/venue/food
Im also being a bit bridezilla as I want everything planned now and want to get married now, not in 9 months0 -
Worst nights sleep ever. My dress is at my parents house, just under 3 weeks to go and my brother had a big bbq party last night at the house :-$ He scared me by saying some people might stay over and Im terrified for my dress! it's in a duvrt cover but the train is so big it's hanging out the bottom and I kept having horrible dreams people had spilt something on it or stood on it! Im going to have to call down to check on it!!0

My latest annoyance is people who cant decide whether or not theyre going to come to the whole thing. Alot of people saying they might just come to watch the service and stuff their face then go home. Im wondering why Im bothering to have an evening do sometimes!0

Crazy bridezilla moment last night...OH accidentally (I hope) shut the cat in the wardrobe where my bridesmaid dresses are hanging. Cat used one as a climbing frame to try and get out!!!!! Cue, sobbing from me and very sorry but defensive OH. Dresses are discontinued, can't get another, gutted isn't the word. Mum reckons she might be able to do something with it but its chiffon and covered in claw marks
Wedding is in August so I better start looking for new ones, really hadn't budgeted for this.

Thats terrible, but look on the brightside - at least its not your dress.
Try e-bay, preloved etc for another dress even if it is discontinued, or contact all stockists and see if they maybe have the sample in the right colour and reasonable sizeWeight loss challenge, lose 15lb in 6 weeks before Christmas.0 -
