I'm feeling very bridezilla as one of my mates is being a cow towards me ATM - I was soooo damn nice and kind to her in the whole run up to her wedding and I feel very hurt that she is stressing me out before mine! :(

    daisiegg - good for you!

I know the feeling well! One of my friends is the same - I am very glad and listened to my instinct and choose not to have her as bridesmaid as it would be seriusly stressing me out now!

I'm a bridezilla because... I want Scott Davison's version of Metallica's Nothing Else Matters as the processional and OH thinks it sounds like funeral music. Arrrrgggghhhh, I've agreed to have a country song I had never heard of as our first dance why can't I have this!?!?!!
I don't want "regular" wedding music, I want something I can listen to again and I don't care if most people won't know what it is, most of my guests will. We're having take that !as 'everyone likes take that'... I don't, I like rock music and so do you so why choose music we wouldn't normally listen too?!? Surely at least one song should be what i like. You vito everything i suggest as people don't like them or they wont know who it is or they're like marmite.!
Damn it its my day too and i don't want regular wedding music, i want at least some of the music to reflect our taste.
!Grrrrr stupid man, at this rate I won't walk in to anything cos I'll be damned of I'm walking in to something I don't like because it's the norm!!!!! Since when have I been normal?!? Rant over

Lisajane, could you maybe both pick three song each? My OH doesn't like the song im walking in to, but he has picked three of his songs for the service too so we're kinda equal.

I think you have a right to be bridezilla about this, it's your wedding, why play TT if neither of you like it.

Oh has picked I Like by Divine Comedy....... I don't care what guests think, it's his wedding, not theirs.
Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....

a friend of mine walked in to guns n roses sweet child o mine. It's a song she has loved for years, and sod what the traditionalists think, and now I always remember her walking in looking so radiant when I hear that guitar start.

Bet you H2B won't think it sounds funereal after the ceremony if you use it.

    Hi Lisa Jane,

Wow - have just listened to the cover of Nothing Else Matters, sounds amazing :j. Have you heard of Apocalyptica - they do Metallica covers on cellos.

Could you give your OH a choice of two songs to pick for the processional (for instance either it's NEM or the Imperial March)?

PS We're definitely not having Take That at our wedding!

I'm having a piper play the funeral procession as I walk down the aisle. It's a personal joke between my OH and me that whenever I hummed the "here comes the bride" tune I did it to the funeral march one so thought it was quite fitting, OH doesn't really mind although he'd prefer something more traditional, but he got to pick the 1st dance song (mash up of D.I.V.O.R.C.E and puddle of mudds "she effin hates me) lol. MIL isn't too happy but she had her day 40 years ago lol. Good luck! :)
  • We have only just started booking our wedding but have already had my first bridezilla moment...

OH and I went to meet a potential photographer yesterday, who has had good reviews from friends and I like the pics I've seen online. He seemed very good, but OH and I agreed at the meeting that we needed to discuss in more detail exactly what we wanted, and get back to him. When we got back to my parents (I'm staying there at the moment as I had an operation a couple of weeks ago), OH didn't seem interested in talking about it, and all my dad kept saying was 'You have to pay for copyright of your images?!' and 'Why does he need to come to the house first and take pictures of your shoes?!' When OH said 'Well if you are so adamant on having a photobooth, do we really need a photographer?' I snapped.

Why don't they understand how important this is?! Photographers can be soo expensive, so I want to make sure we make the right decision. This is a really important part of the day to me, as I love looking back at photos to help remember good times. Also, a few photographers we have met at wedding fayres have said that they have had some bookings for 2014 already, so I'm worried if we leave it too long we won't find one we like available. I tried explaining how I felt to OH and he said he'd try and have a look into it, but I'm not really holding out much hope!

Ah, sorry, rant over. I think being cooped up in this house with just the cat for company most of the day is taking its toll on me!!

Laura, if it's any help with your dad...our photographer (and others we looked at) retained copyright, which can be horrendously priced to buy from them, but we had licence to use them as we wanted as long as it wasn't commercially. So my official photos have gone on FB, been used on a calendar, and I've put them on a wedding website I just finished - in the case of the website I did put a statement saying that the photos were copyright of him. On Linda's site (she made my dress) she has used an image from him but she got permission from him first and there was no issue over that at all. Just because you don't have copyright doesn't mean you can't use the photos - you just need to check with the photographer that's the case

Ours we don't have copyright, that stays with the photographer, but the images are royalty free, meanin that we can use them as much as we like for personal use. Most photographers seem to keep copyright (and tbh I think they should, it is their 'art' after all) but many allow royalty free images.
