Wanchai - I would buy the big dress if that is really what your heart wants. I am on my second wedding and I felt it was wrong somehow to have a big wedding dress. I bought 2 possibles second hand and then I decdied 'what the ehll'. My first wedding dress was made by my mum and friend and whilst gorgeous wasn't 'wow'. I tried a number of wedding dresses on in the shop and when I found the right one it was 'WOW' from me and the staff! I found it easiest not to take anyone as then I didn't have to justify it. Yes, it was a LOT of money, but I feel a million dollars in it. Plus I will sell it after, so I will make some of the money back. I didn't want to regret not wearing the dress which made me feel amazing.

As regards to your friend - I would ask her if she has any bits and pieces you could customise! That way you could get yours cheaper and if I were her I would feel honoured to have by wedding stuff at someone elses wedding.

The page boy thing - just let it go - I would. Sometimes it is just easier to smile and accept these things. It's unlikely to ruin your day.

Oh no, what is wrong with them? Can you do anything to improve them?

Thanks Megan :) I will take your advice on board. I am finding it very hard yo decide tbh, maybe I'm putting pressure on myself to get the 'perfect' dress :o or maybe I haven't found The One yet! What's your dress again? Xx

I bought a Monsoon bridal dress yesterday, and I just LOVE it... it's so beautiful, and me! :)

Oh good grief! Now my best friend, who I've been friends with for 20 years and who came with me to buy my dress (which is ivory) has announced she's coming in a white dress!

Now, I know that she's the one who's going to look a bit foolish, and it's not like anyone will be paying her more attention than me, but really. And, bless her, she actually said on the phone "my friends told me I shouldn't wear white to a wedding, but I knew you wouldn't mind". SHEESH!

(I don't mind enough to do anything about it, but I am a bit gobsmacked at the assumption!)

I would KILL her. And I am not the type to get worked up about stuff easily. :rotfl:

Let her wear it - she will look a fool. Everyone knows you don't wear white to a wedding. Even if the bride is in a different colour. It just makes her look desperate.

Totally agree - she will be a laughing stock. It would really lower my opinion of someone if they did that. What a cow!
