I have been starting to have some bridezilla-ish thoughts lately, not sure whether I am ready to vent/unleash them on anyone yet, but perhaps I should let it all out here first...?
Go for it hun, you'll feel better for it!Marrying my lovely man on 1st September 2012

OK, well, firstly I am feeling a little pressured (by everyone except OH) to get a 'wedding' dress in a shop, that costs ££££s. I have seen some FAB dresses but I also bought a Monsoon dress recently as my 'backup' in case I don't find anything nice in the shopswhich is also gorgeous but not your typical 'bridal' dress.
I am worried about (a) spending a fortune and regretting it or (b) wearing my Monsoon dress and feeling that I settled for second best.7 Feb 2012: 10st7lbs14 Feb: 10st4.5lbs

Also, I have lots of fab vintage/shabby chic ideas but went to a good friend's wedding recently and she had some of the same stuff I want to have. Now I'm worried that she'll think I've stolen her ideas when she goes to my wedding!
Should I have a word before the day or just go ahead and do my own thing and see if she mentions it?? I don't want to leave stuff out for fear of offending her as I've seen the same stuff in mags (birdcages, wooden signs etc) but hers is the first wedding among our 'group' that's had that sort of style. But I had the ideas before her wedding and she knows that I love vintage style.7 Feb 2012: 10st7lbs14 Feb: 10st4.5lbs

Have u thought about buying second hand? That way you get a very expensive FAB wedding dress for very little (I got a £1500 dress second hand off eBay for £109.):T0

Oh yes!!! And SIL2B insists that her son will be our page boy, despite the fact that (a) I don't WANT a page boy and (b) he'll only be 22 months at the time of the wedding and might be a nightmare in the church and official photos!!! :eek:7 Feb 2012: 10st7lbs

Woweee, amazing!!! Yes, I have searched for my fave dresses on preloved sites and eBay etc but no joy so far. I could keep looking, but I would run the risk of missing cut-off dates for ordering from shops (our wedding is in July).7 Feb 2012: 10st7lbs14 Feb: 10st4.5lbs

There's no point going to a bridal shop and buying an expensive frilly number when actually that's not what you want - if your dream dress is a Monsoon one then buy it.
However, I would say not to buy any dress without trying a variety of styles on, because your idea of what you'll like might be way out once you see them on.
As for the theme, no I don't think your friend would mind, I'd just carry on as you want to and mention it to your friend if/when you get the opportunity. I don't think she'll mind, as she went 'first'.0 -

Well, there will be a few (close) mutual friends at both our weddings but I don't think she'll mind.I hope not anyway!
Re the dressI'm just a bit worried that I am leaning towards wearing the Monsoon one *because* it's cheap. I'm trying to imagine that I found it in a sample sale in a bridal shop for £100 - would I think I'd hit the jackpot and buy it straight away? Am I just being silly??

I wondered if would regret not having a trad white brides dress, so I made myself try some one but they just didn't feel right (friend agreed too) and also I didn't want to spend wads on a dress either. When I tried on the dress I did wear (knee length and olive green) I just felt amazing and knew this was the one for me and no regrets after either. And I can't wait to wear it again too!
Don't be afraid to be yourself and a little different. But perhaps try on a few long white ones too just to be sure. One thing is for sure - as a bride you will be radiating such happiness, you will look fabulous in what ever you choose. Didn't believe it til I experienced it myself:D.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0
