I am secretly gutted by how few friends I have on the guest list - mine are all family and collegues with hardly any friends (cos I don't have any)

I need to loose weight and feel angry at everyone else for not forcing me to eat celery and go to the gym.

I could have written that myself!! I have a few friends but most of my guests are family, oh's are all friends and a few family :(

everytime i say i need to lose weight/tone up everyone says 'your fine-have a cake' & I have no will power and do it! lets just hope that in July I can still do my dress up!!

RainbowDrops I think it is Guestzilla... But I'm NOT changing for anyone!

Our venue has all this fancy food and it's just not me (being from up north I'm a simple girl! That's me being simple - not northerners!) and in Cockermouth they do the best steak pie EVER and I wanted that for my dinner but I had to compromise and will be having the venue's steak and ale pie instead!

    :)Baby due 2/2/2012!!:)
  • I'm joing the 'few freinds' group! I only have about 4 freinds and then the rest is family. Not worried though as get on with all of OH's mates.

Most of my friends are the girlfriends of my OH's friends! Luckily we all get on very well! I'm not very well represented family-wise, just my parents, my brother and his fiance. OH's Mum has 5 brothers and sisters (and their respective partners) who are all probably coming so his side massively outweighs mine! I'm happy with that though, I don't really get on with my extended family!

Am I a bridezilla if I demand that FIL2B trims his ear-hair for the wedding?!
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

Ha ha! Am loving this thread. I'm not even getting married until Aug/Sep 2011 and am already having a few bridezilla-type moments:

I'm a Bridezilla and I don't want BiL2B's GF in my photos. She's horrid, not going to be around for long and she'll just ugly up my wedding pictures!

As we're getting married abroad I want all of the men in long sleeved white linen shirts with the sleeves rolled up- not short sleeves! I don't know why the thought of this upsets me so much but I'll go mental if any of the close family/ bridal party turn up in short sleeve shirts as they know what I want! You'd think getting married abroad would mean that I don't have to worry about silly things but here I am hyperventilating about shirt sleeves! :rotfl:

Agree very much with 2 points here: some of OHs side of the family are not the most photogenic. Actually I have a few on my side that aren't too hot either, but hopefully they won't be there!

And as for the clothes - we are getting married abroad too and I want my OH and his BM to wear shirts that are tucked into their smart-ish trousers. But HE wants casual linen shirts, untucked and casual-ish trousers with sandals. He has the most hideous toes and toenails so sandals are NOT a good idea!

I'm admitting to one bridezilla-ish tendency (there are a lot more but this is the only one I'm admitting to :p) and that's me reminding H2B on a weekly basis that if he drinks more than 2 glasses of alcohol at the reception then I will go to bed without him.

I have no problem with him enjoying a drink but he is well known for making "inappropriate comments", trying to dance like Michael Jackson and removing articles of clothing if he starts on a 3rd glass of wine/beer/whatever.

Am so glad someone else went first with not wanting their OH to get too drunk. And they sound like the same man too - especially the stripping! Mine can't pace himself and will be trolleyed before we even get to dinner and will then be putting himself in danger of being a battered husband! (Joke!)
I'm also trying to get him to stop smoking before then. Have told him I won't marry him if he doesn't stop - that didn't scare him sufficiently to stop. So have told him he best stop before the day as I don't want him in and out from the table during dinner, leaving me alone.

    Hmm, what else is there?
Am dreading my mum's outfit. Am trying to steer her towards a nice, light dress but she is going towards the type of flowery curtain 2 piece outfits she normally wears.

Don't want anyone turning up wearing shorts like happened at friends wedding abroad couple of years ago.

People are going to eat what they are given and if they don't like it they can go and get a crepe later on.

Think I had better stop there - for now!

Edit: OMG - just realised how long mine is! And now I've made it longer. Doh.
If you have nothing constructive to say just move along.

I have come to bridezilla's anonymous to confess,

I am a bridezilla and I loathe that my OH sister has just got engaged and is planning her wedding for 2011 when it should be "our wedding time"

People are following the colour scheme and I didn't want them to/realise they would. I only wanted my mum and bridesmaids in blue but now they would stand out better in something else!

I wish my stepmother and her kids weren't coming.

I don't want my bridesmaids to look nicer than me.

I am secretly gutted by how few friends I have on the guest list - mine are all family and collegues with hardly any friends (cos I don't have any)

I need to loose weight and feel angry at everyone else for not forcing me to eat celery and go to the gym.

I think that's enough for now. thanks for the thread, didn't realise how much of a zilla I am!!!

Aw I love weddings I will be your best friend,

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:@ all posts! I love reading this thread. Rinroo - why are you buying their dresses if they're not part of the wedding party? Think your sis is being a little hard on you.

I'm not buying them, she's bought them and has only just told me exactly what she has bought. I've tried explaining that they'll look like bridesmaids when there not as she replied "so people will know who your bridesmaids are as they'll see them walking down the aisle" - I want to wring her neck:eek:;)

I was never a bridezilla-I booked the wedding and had it six weeks later......yes the full works-including sitdown meal.......there was no TIME to 'zila ! I recommend it-you get to do it all your own way because no-one has time to argue :D

(Of course if you ask my cousin he'll say I was a Bridezilla because it was a no kids wedding and I stood firm when he spat his dummy because "My daughter has never been to a wedding and wants to go" (she was 12-is it MY fault none of his friends invite him to their weddings ???). When he said "If she can't come I won't come" we just looked sad and said "You must do what you feel is right" and celebrated-didn't want him there anyway :)
