Defo think there should have been more off an advertisement so as not to woory people and maybe more people answering the phone!!0

Just got through to a really nice lady at specialist renewals team, who processed our claim there and then. Should have award notice within 7 days.
She took our income figures and just asked the names and dates of birth of everyone in the household, amount of hours worked, and if anyone was on DLA.
On another note, the specialist team seem to be checking with childcare providers, my cousin is a childminder and said she had 4 phone calls last week checking that she was looking after said children, hours and rates charged.

After renewing via the main helpline number on 26th April I then received a letter from Specialist Team to forward my P60 and childcare receipts, due to the fact I had never been asked to keep child care receipts and the fact I was going into hospital there was a slight delay in me getting all this information off to them - I rung to advise information info on its way and lady I spoke with was fine when I explained reason for delay - information has now all all been sent recorded delivery last week - hopefully I can put my renewal to bed very soon. I just keep looking out for my final award notices now each day. I am assuming all is fine as they have not rung me. I totally agree that people should have been informed about this new process (for the chosen few) which would have avoided alot of anxiety for people. Maybe the way forward is for every claimant to provide proof of income and childcare (if applicable) that way the TC's can verify the information - if they did this for every claimant then maybe the amount of overpayments would be reduced!!!!!0

Where did you get the number from for the specialist team, I dont know where to get it from and no-one on here is giving it out.
Did you receive a letter from the specialist team??? If you did this will have their number on it - if you didn't then it is possible you only need to renew via the main helpline number.0 -
hi, they asked a few more questions then normal helpline.. who lived in your household, age of kids, what child care you use and cost..asked if income was off p60, but nothing over the top..took 2 weeks to get my provisional, then a week later my final..all i say is ring about 8am if you can.. i did n t have a problem gettin through,,..good luck
I am thinkin maybe its a case of who you talk to as to what questions they ask you as there doesn't seem to be any consistency not by the posts I have read on here. The info that seems to keep popping up is the info re P60 and childcare and this seems to be then requested as if to verify what you are telling them over the phone0 -
Angel that's exactly what I was asked and was told paperwork would be with me in 7-10 days. Although I didn't get asked about DLA just my childrens DOBs, hours worked, employer and household income and if I lived on my own0

RESULT phoned using the above number given and said the main tax credit line had given us the number, unfortnately it was not the correct number, however they transferred me to the correct team and they went through our claim, we had to confirm child dob, p60 amounts and claiming the disability element, she said we would have our new award in around 7 days. She did say that a letter from the specialist team would have been sent prior to our provisional award letter, but we have never received that.
At least its all sorted now, thank you to everyones input in this thread.

I received a Provisional Award Letter this morning and phoned the main TC number to ask if they needed any more information or whatever to finalise my claim but the lady just said that it was "being processed by another agency and they will contact me if they need any more information". They received my paperwork on the 23rd april but it's still not completed? I really don't understand it at all as none of my circumstances have changed.0

Your situation sounds very familiar to ours, I phoned the number given after my posting this afternoon, however, it was not the correct number for us, but they did transfer our call to the correct department, the lady said we should have received a letter from the specialist team before we we got our provisional award letter, she went through our claim there and then, so its now complete.
If I were you I would phone the number given in the above posting and take it from there, you will probably find that your letter is missing too.
Hope you get it sorted soon

I received the specialist team letter back in April before our annual review letter. I read through it quickly and dismissed it as being for people who were struggling to fill in the paper declaration! So I duly filled in and sent off the paper declaration at the begining of May. Having not heard anything (which is unusual as I have had a turnaround of 3 days in the past) I telephoned today to check they had in fact received my declaration. They have, but it was not processed yet, the guy explained that some were turning around quickly others not so. I came in here to see what I could find out and lo and behold the good old specialist team letter turns out to be more important than I had realised.....I had binned the letter so got the 5310 number from on here, telephoned them immediately, a man answered after about 3 rings!!! eureka...very quickly confirmed my details, what my childrens dob's are, my childs DLA claim info..and that was it, all of 2 minutes, he could not have been nicer.. and that appears to be that. So to all of you worried or panicking about ringing..please don't be, he was swift and to the point, didn't leave me hanging, didn't pry into the why's and wherefore's of my life..and said my claim is now complete....by delaying your call you are really just delaying completion of your claim. Hope it all goes well for those of you still waiting, will update with progress now it appears my claim is sorted
Life is full of lessons...wish I had been awake in the one entitled 'Do you really need that stuff?'
