I must admit, after ringing investigations, my paperwork was through the post within 3 weeks. I even had to ring up a week ago as they'd inflated my income this year and have had the paperwork today!

hi everyone im a bit confused.
i sent my renewal back via royal mail at the begining of may yesterday i recieved a letter asking for my partners earnings (which i had already filled in on the declaration that i sent them) and then today i recieved our nhs exemption certificate.
has anybody else had this. im going to ring them on tuesday when my fella gets paid as i have already wasted £20 on credit been on hold lol.
oh also the letter asking for hubbys income was dated 3rd june but the letter with our nhs cards was dated 21st may
hi just wondering did you get the specialist renewal letter?

I renewed probably a day after you or so and mine was done instantly, so don't know something seems up.
  • Tax credit Help, I would appreciate your help.
I'm one of those who needs to call the specialist team. From what I understand the team checks the details of the the claim given to them against payroll lists and PAYE data.
I have been earning less than the LEL (lower earnings level) which was 95 pounds p/week in 2009. I worked 16 hours a week and got paid minimum wage which came out to be approx. 93 pounds. Because of this my employer did not want to register me as being employed by him and putting me on the payroll, because he said that by law he doesn't need to do that. I checked it out on the HMRC website and its true, but I'm still entitled to working t.c. as I've been working 16 hours a week and earning minimum wage. Now, I'm concerned that although everything is lawfully correct, when the specialist team will try and check the data they might have difficulty in doing that because the only place I'm registered as an employee is at the tax credit office.Do I need to inform them about it?
Please advise me what to do because it is for the same reason that my emloyer never wrote me a p.60. Up until now I just filled in the forms with the correct details and e/thing was fine. Now I understand that with the specialist team they want a p.60 when renewing my claim which in my case I don't have one. As for this year I finally changed my employer and e/thing is properly registered, but for the tax year of 2009-2010 I wasn't registered, what do you suggest I do?

    Successful,

One of the questions I was asked was "do I have a contract of employment for my hours" ....!

I don't have a P60 this year either, having worked for the NHS for 13 years! We have been taken over by another trust so they issued us all with P45's as prove of earnings but said TC can write to them for details of my employment if needed. How crap is that!

So all this time we have been told that we are under no investigation and it turns out that we are. I had an investigation last year and they found nothing, cannot believe that we were not told the truth. I am sure that they have a legal obligation to tell you if your under suspicion??
Waiting for P60 before I can renew. !!:rotfl:

Renewed with specialist team last Tuesday, phoned normal helpline on Friday to check if claim had been processed, got our new amount at the same time.

Received last years final award notice today.
