going by your blue points :
1.glad we agree it is a check i.e investigation
2.all accounts are placed on hold in that they will not be re-newed unless one of the investigation team release the account for the new year. all payments going through normally are provisional only.
3.as i have staed ther are people including myself who are below this threshold only on wtc and ctc.and yes the ones on disability may very well need help, but not all and sundry. some, if not most, of us have had no trouble filling in the forms in the past or present. really dont see your point?
    4. We all appreciate you taking the time out to help or input present strategums. if i came across as insulting you, then i do appologise. My oppinion is from personal experiance only. I admire the fact that you defend your position, but your position is that of a civil servant in a department that right now have embarked upon a journey of inflicting distress with no remorse nor accountability to the very people that feeds it. not making accusations, just stating fact as it appears to me. and in no way am i insulting you, but again that is my opinion.
5.for example when i called, all i was told was that it would be looked into and i would be notified at a later date. so I must be totally illiterate where i could not see where that call made my application easier, nor where the help or direction to make my life easier came from.
6 & 7. ok I could be wrong on this one but equifax is a credit reporting profit making agency. The nature of the beast is to buy and sell individual information. You say it is a one way affair, but where is the proof? was never nationally announced that the department had gone into a one way agreement with equifax now was it?
    8. the government have always had this information readily available to them, so why go to an outside for profit organisation? makes no sense at all. i can not control what government department sees my information, nor can i control the sale of my information my fro profit companies of which the very same the government now resorts to using thereby making all information available to all 500,000 civil servants to see.
9.disgruntled? not too sure, just dont like dishonesty, so far as if i am to be accused of something, bring my accuser forward and let the onus be upon that person to prove such.

In closing i would like to say that we do have a right to speak out when being policed/prosecuted too far and this is in no way scaremongering, more standing up for our right to live without let nor hindrence.

Goodness me - I would have thought people were more grateful of receiving tax credits and willing to justify their claim, instead of moaning about having to prove their claim while still receiving their provisional award.

It has always been in the legislation for tax credits to thoroughly check a percentage of the awards every year.

I was under the impression that tax credits began the renewals on the highest awards first every April - surprised they are already at the low awards.
  • Can I just say not ALL people with awards of £8500 have to go through specialist which would make me say it was an investigation of sorts.

My award last year was nearly 9k, this year more 5k due to wage increase last year and disbaled element for one of my children.

We phoned up when we got our renewal, gave the exact figure from hubbies p60 and my CA, a week later adjusted payments and small sum, 2 weeks later our final award and prov this year.

No childcare, just hubbies p60 figure and my CA to the exact pound.

shammy123 - please stop these silly scare tactics !!!!!!!!!!! I can assure you,if the Tax credits were "investigating" the claimants that are being asked to renew via the specialist team they'd be asked to provide a lot more than a few details !!!!!_- An investigation by the TCO is very through and I can assure you it consists of a lot more than a few questions over the phone !!!!!

i agree nottslass. it is nt an investagation.. more like a way of checking that your giving the right info..i do think they re ringing child care provider and checking p60 info..but why should nt they. i renewed through specilist team middle of april and it took 3 weeks to get my final award..i think the ones that are panicing maybe have something to hide.. there s been a few on here..i ve followed from day one..that have had to provide extra info but if you look at there other posts you will see that they ve come clean at having something to hide..or are trying to get info on how to get crisis loans , flats furnished for nothing etc...all i say is don t panic and don t let people try n scare you..tax credit help has been a great help on here..i say a big thanks to him/her and lets hope he carrys on reasuring people that need the help and info..
  • i agree this person is trying to help and HAS helped alot of people keep it up taxcredits ;-)

    Hi
I renewed through the specialist team mid April and my award has been finalised I have received all p/work and my prov award for this year in mid may! I take it everything has gone through and all checks completed?
  • Hi I eventually phoned the ST this morning and got through and was told my final award notice hadn't been finalised as in order to finalise you NEED to speak to the ST. The lady I spoke to just went over the information I gave the main number and said that I should get my paperwork through within 7-10 days. The frustrating thing is I tried to call the ST when I got my renewal pack through but couldn't get an answer and when I phoned the main line they told me they could take the details. Any changes from now on still go through the main number. Hope this helps someone.
