Message to TaxCredit help. Your information is very informative, I have renewed or it think I have as I have no reason to question this as I did ring the main number. Should I still ring the Specialist Team?? as a previous post you said that a signal will appear on my account.
So does this mean I have not renewed as the call handler did not say she could not deal with the renewal? I would like to be clear as I am on a budget and want to make sure that all the information the Tax Credit people have are correct and also not to stress that things have gone horribly wrong a few weeks down the line thinking that all is okay.....0 -
The number you mention is the 'declaration barcode' number. Some advisers will use it and some won't. It's just an added way of making sure we have the correct award but as long as the adviser has your National Insurance Number and verified your details the renewal will process as normal.
And it is important that anyone who received a Specialist Renewals letter call the 0845 number shown. It really will be the quickest way to ensure your annual renewal is processed in a timely manner.0 -
Taxcreditshelp - thankyou for your posts on this, they really helped me to stop stressing!0

On some occasions we've found the helpline are removing the signal and processing the renewal... which they shouldn't be. So you're renewal may have been processed. To be on the safe side I would recommend calling the Specialist Renewals Team to make sure.0 -

The NI number on the letter should be for 'Applicant1'. This isn't necessarily the person who deals with the Tax Credit Office the most, it just depends the order the names were placed on the form when you originally claimed. The reason only one letter is being issued to joint households is simply to save money on costs of paper, ink and postage. This may eventually become the case with all Tax Credit correspondence in the future.0 -
:cool:i too had one of those letters a week ago. i phoned the help line and didn t mention the letter b4 my renewal pack arrived about my childcare. she adjusted my childcare and asked me questions for 2010/2011 . said my new renewal would be sent out to me..i ve hummed and harred till i got my renewal pack and decided with the help of these threads to phone the number..i have nothin to hide..got through first time, the lady was very nice.. she seemed to ask alot of questions about my childcare..and if i was still a single cliamant..it took about ten mins..the computer was very slow.. then she said all the info would be checked and then final notice sent for 2009/2010. .just checked my bank account and i ve had another payment go in..2 this week..whats goin on..?0

Does this mean that all claimants whether they have received the specialist renewal letter or not are checked as well as those who have had these letters because everyone can make mistakes whether your claim is high or not.My claim is far from high so not sure why i ve been chosen.0

i reckon every one that has had aletter will be checked0
