            Hi
Im still worried and confused as I dont want to lose mt WTC and worse still pay back it all from last year. TAXCREDITHELP where are ???:(
As I said my husband backdated self employment registration and NI, now do I have to give specialist renewal team anything else other than UTR number so she can see he is now registered self employed or is this still messy with her wanting still more. According to HRMC my husband has until January to do self assessment online or go into HRMC but I get the impression this lady is wanting details now which i cant understand because surely if he does his self assessment and inland revenue are happy she can take the income from that data later but i dont think she will renew my claim and when i ring can never get through.
it will take my husband a while to get profit and loss receipts details etc together but if hes registered why would she still want invoices and adverts placed. Any help taxcredithelp or indeed anyone who knows would be appreciated. Need this sorting within the next 3 weeks before renewal date runs out.
thanks everyone0 -

They usually accept an estimated figure from the self-employed. I assume you have some idea of what his profit was last year? It's probably best to overestimate than underestimate, less chance of overpayment.
She probably wants proof that he was actually working during the time he was registered. You'll be able to prove that with receipts, and invoices etc.All over the place, from the popular culture to the propaganda system, there is constant pressure to make people feel that they are helpless, that the only role they can have is to ratify decisions and to consume.0 -
Hi Deepmistrust for your answers, he would have to give an estimate until he does full tax return because he has lots of expenses for setting up with tools etc which i believe come off the profit.
Its just very worrying thinking you are going to have pay back all WTC im very poorly on incapacity and we live on this and tax credits plus money when he gets jobs but this isnt that regular(work is so thin on the ground but slowly improving) and if I lost my tax credits we would be in trouble. I know he made an error but now he has backdate he will certainly have to pay tax if hes over the threshold so if we dont get WTC either we are in a mess
Thanks again and if anyone else has any advice would be welcome0 -

With regard to his self-employment - The tools don't necessarily come off the profit as such. Depending on what he's bought, they may be classed as assets, which means he can claim capital allowances on them. Same for any purchases like vehicles, computers etc. Without knowing the nature of his business or the equipment he has bought, i can't be certain. Probably best for him to get his books up to stratch, then use an accountant to do his tax return for him. It will cost a couple of hundred pounds, but unless he knows what he is doing, he might end up costing himself more in tax, or worse - not declaring correctly and opening himself up to a fine.
I can't say what the tax credit people will do. I can only assume that as long as HMRC have accepted his self assessment date, then as long as you can prove the dates if required by Tax credits, then I don't see why they would make you repay your tax credits for the year. All over the place, from the popular culture to the propaganda system, there is constant pressure to make people feel that they are helpless, that the only role they can have is to ratify decisions and to consume.0 -
I contacted the Specialist Team a few weeks ago had my provisional andfinal award through. Now today I have received an "amended award" for 2010-2011 in a brown envelope. Any reasons 2 this or anyone else get this?
I haven't amended anything since calling them a few weeks ago, but my childcare details changed when I phoned the Specialist Team
I thought once I had my final award throught hat was the last I'd get?
xWedding on hold until 2011. Mummy to DD1 3/2/6 DD2 5/10/7! Mortgaged to my eyeballs!0 -

            Hi
TaxCreditHelp or anyone that knows about tax credits, my husband is going to tax office to properly self assess and get a figure for tax credits which will verified by them.
Now I need to know this please if my husband is self employed and he has his late mothers house rented for a small income to friend on dss, would this just come on his self assessment form and this would be part of his profit and loss finalisation, or does it have to be declared as other income for him for tax credits and not put on self assessment im assuming it doesnt come on both, if its other income then i will just tell tax credits the figure for other income minus £300 and my husband leave it off self assessment or is it other way around, god this self employment business is soooo confusing.
Another question an old endowment 20 years old plus was cashed in, some people say its not classed as income as its not taxable unless you are high tax payer and just any bank interest over £300 would be classed as other income and would tax credits already know about the payout full amount because if its not taxable as an income surely its not fair to have to declare all of it as other income. Any help would be appreciated because my heads in a spin with all this.
