He only started the job in January so hasn't been there long enough. He is a teacher so can't take annual leave either, but it won't be too long til half term at the end of May and the summer holidays will be nice!Back on the MFW Wagon!

Welcome to all the newbies!!
Huge hugs and sympathies for all the ladies with SPD, it must be so irritating, and inconvenient!!
44 days to go for me. Everyone keeps telling me I look like I can't wait for it to be out, I look fed up, I look due any day etc etc... Actually I feel fantastic and am really enjoying it! So ner! LOL
xxx:heart2: THANK YOU MARTIN!! :heart2:0 -
Wildfrog; my OH doesnt get paternity leave either
he also started his job in January. But he might not even have a job by August anyway as he is on a 4 week contract at the mo
so hope its extended, I would rather his job be extended and him to have to work while I have the baby, I know this would suck but if he doesnt have a job we will be screwed for money, before January he had been out of work for 2 years and I had paid all the bills with my wage, I dont earn much anyway and don't fancy rushing back to work after having a baby.
Seeing my Midwife a week on friday, not seen her for about 8 weeks. Spoke to a friend from college last night who asked who my midwife was, I told her and she told me she originally had her but changed as she couldnt stand her... great!!!
Does anyone know if after 20 weeks do you have anymore 'nhs' scans? I dont think you do but I want to see my baby again!0 -
morning
kitkat i dont get another scan unless something needs checking out
saz i keep getting the omg you look due & when i say ive got 12+ wks left people nearly faint :rotfl:

i got midwife today at 12 to see if bubs is still measuring big think im gonna be having a right winge about my back its driving me insane0 -
Sympathies Kitkat, I know what you mean about prefering the contract is extended....the uncertainty must be difficult, it makes it hard to make plans in advance. How easy would it be for him to find another job?
I hope things go okay with the midwife, why did your friend change?
As far as I am aware there are no routine scans after 20weeks on the NHS, but it may depend on your area. I had an additional scan at about 28weeks as I was measuring a bit on the small side, but all was fine. I've had a few friends who were sent for growth scans too. It seems where I live that if "bump" is measuring more than 2cms over or under what they expect they send you for a growth scan.Back on the MFW Wagon!

OMG is that what the lower back pain is? not quite your back, not your bum either but somewhere in the middle..Comes and goes at odd times, and find yourself walking like a 90 year old woman!
Having very very strange goings on (this is my first btw) been having leaking nipples (not milk tho, a clear liquid) must remember to ask my midwife...woke up the other night to find a little puddle..eeeeks0 -
*brace yourself for a stupid question*
Am i meant to call MW to make appts, or do I get them like hosp appts/scans? I am under consultant care due to previous pregnancy (have 6 yr old DD) and as it was 7 years ago and different area I do not know what's what :rotfl::rotfl:
TBH, I really DO NOT want to see her/them.........told me a load of old codswallop at 8 weeks. Buggsville. But neither do I want to not be doing something I should LOL0 -

It wouldnt be easy for him to find a job around here, theres very few jobs available and lots of local companies have closed/ are closing. The town we live in has been hit hard by the recession, when I finish my maternity leave i might not have a job as my company is in trouble but i am not worrying about it. We would probably have to move, he is a qualified electrician so there should be work somewhere, but i wouldnt want to move too far from my family!
My friend said she changed as she found the midwife uncaring, abrupt and abit forceful with her views. I have noticed my appointments are abit like a production line 'bloods, pee, NEXT' lol but at the moment im not too bothered!
Thanks for the info re: the scans. I wasnt sure, OH asked me last nite and I didnt have a clue!0 -
Hi Emsywoo, not sure about your area, but I made the initial MW appt at the Dr surgery. Every time I've seen the MW since then she just books my next appointment there and then. It's nice cos then I don't have to try and be organised and ring up
.
Just had yet more blood taken and got my iron tablets. Was going to be good and start taking them just now, but I can't get the blimmin bottle open! Ah well, that's what OH is for!

I've asked school for a reduction in timetable so I can make sure I support my exam classes. I've got another physio appt in 2 weeks so I hope things will start becoming more manageable. She mentioned that I could end up in a wheelchair by the end of the pregnancy if I'm not careful
Make sure youre not going up and downstaris too! I had to change classrooms and have them all on the ground floor, your school sound quite supportive so please dont feel down!i got midwife today at 12 to see if bubs is still measuring big think im gonna be having a right winge about my back its driving me insane
Got mine tomorrow and kacking it as I was just measuring big too...together with this blinking spd, I dont think a big baby is going to cooperate with my pelvis during the birth! possible C-Section methinks...

Well, not been around due to moving house, etc. Official move date is Sunday but will have no bed or setee for at least a week! Just waiting for them to be imported, etc. Cant wait to stop living out of boxes. And if bubs decides to make an early arrival, they will have nowhere to sleep/sit as weve not had time to buy ANY big baby items!:eek:
Have my physio today, cant wait. Im hoping she will sort my pelvis out... the worst thing ever is turning over in bed... OUCH!
2 weeks left before Im on my MAT leave and I cant wait! :T:T:T Going to miss my form though.First baby born 10/06/10:heartpuls 6lb 10z:heartpulsI love my little family0
