feel so sorry for everyone with spd, my old boss had it and seeing her hobble around at work was just horrible.
keep saying, that if were meant to have children why do they make pregnancy so horrible and with so many bad side-effects, you would have though it would be something much easier after all this evolution!!:j0 -
I had to use gel with the angelsounds. but most people on Ebay sell the doppler with the gel. What's yours is mine and what's mine is mine..0

Hello all
Thought I'd better stop by and say hello instead of lurking
I'm 13+2 so got a bit of a way to go yet, and by the sound of some of your comments, a few hurdles too!
Could someone please do the honours of adding me to the list (due 1st Nov)- don't want to embarrass myself like BufgerIt's taken me all week to suss how to add my scan video on the 12 week board, and even managed to balls that up!!
Anyhow, nice to have finally made the graduation to the Pregnancy board :j0 -
Thanks for the replies. I'm feeling really low about it right now though. I've asked school for a reduction in timetable so I can make sure I support my exam classes. I've got another physio appt in 2 weeks so I hope things will start becoming more manageable. She mentioned that I could end up in a wheelchair by the end of the pregnancy if I'm not careful which has absoltely terrified me. Is it bad that I didn't even smile tonight when the baby started kicking?Updating soon...0

hi wildfrog i agree its outrageous and what pees me of the most is that if i was under other health authority i would of been seen within 2wks i only live 10miles from other hospital :mad:, im 27w im seeing an anethatist(sp) next month to see if she thinks i will be able to give birth
:( i have 2 children and i never had spd so this is a shock to me and also ive never been ill in my life so to have near constant pain is difficult to deal with
courgette try not to let it get you down easier said than done i know, my midwife & physio said the same to me about being on crutches and in wheelchair but im being stubbon and wont have crutches yet but i am managing it better now as im taking it slowly
hi plymoth welcome
bugfer i think youve started a trend :rotfl:its great to have newies0 -
Its my little girls 5th birthday today so we've been out for tea:)
I had SPD with both my other two pregnancies but was never offered physio - midwife just fobbed me off. It was very painful so I sympathise with all who are suffering.
I am quite suprised that I haven't started to really suffer yet this pregnancy - just get the odd twinge if I've been sat too long.
I've got my 20 weeks scan this week too :j0 -
Another one with SPD here! I was diagnosed today by the physio. I have a walking stick which I use when it gets bad, but she said there wasn't much they could do. I have a belt which she gave me, but it doesn't seem to help so far plus it really cuts into me when I sit down:j30/7/10:j

My midwife fobbed me off last time when i was suffering i could barely move and the stupid woman would only advise to take paracetomol. Luckily i havent had it yet this time so fingers crossed.
I did have a read up and you can help ease it a bit by when going up stairs stepping up one at a time and going down the stairs backwards. Also i found that if i sat still for more than 10 mins at a time i would sease up and i could literaly feel my hips clicking back into place when i got up so move little and often sometimes helps.
On the up side it can ease a lot when baby engages as it stabalises your pelvis again. Water births are meant to very good as well if your sufferer so if you want a more natural birth then it may be worth considering this course of action :-):jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0 -
welcome to all the graduates from the less than 12 weeks thread
courgette and all the others with spd, sounds like hell. I am achey tonight after a fast 45 min walk at lunchtime today (on the positive side we had a record 35 staff turn out!) and am a bit worried about our holiday next week which we usually spend most of walking - dh knows i can't do long (as in over 10) mile walks any more but i am still worried he's expecting too much. I don't think I have spd am just achy and legs feel heavy and tired all the time.Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0
