Sorry to hear about your SPD Courgette *hugs* and *hugs* to everyone else suffering.
What exactly is SPD? I have had pains in my hips, and sometimes when I get up I struggle to walk, could this be SPD? I am not the type of person to go to the docs so havent bothered getting it checked out. It could always just be as my office is up 4 flights of stairs  and down 2 flights to go to the loo  (which i virtually live in at the mo!)
CAFC; I sent pumpkin a nice snotty email! I will work on my letter tomorrow! Just got in from college and I cant be bothered now!0 -
kitkat these are some of the syptoms
Symptoms- Pain in the pubic area and groin (the pubis symphysis) is the most common symptom.
- Many women also suffer from lower back pain in the sacroiliac joints, pain in buttock area (posterior pelvic pain), lower abdomen and hip pain. It can also radiate down the inner thigh.
- It is common to feel a grinding or clicking in the pubic area when walking.
- The pain is often made worse by separating your legs, walking, getting in or out of a car, going up or down stairs or moving around in bed.

for the ladies already suffering i have found these little things that can help to make life a little easier
Sitting in bed with your legs straight in front of you can put extra pressure on the Symphysis Pubis joint. A chair is better or sit in bed with a pillow under your knees.
In bed: Get into bed carefully, sit on the edge of the bed and, keeping you knees together, and lay on your side. Then keeping your knees and legs in line roll onto your back/ side. Keep you knees together at all times.
Tie a dressing gown cord around your legs to help lift your legs and to keep your legs together at night.
Satin or Silk Pyjamas make turning over in bed easier. If it is too painful to roll over in bed ask your partner to hold your hips together whilst you roll over as it will avoid the joint slipping or grinding.
A folded towel or cushion between the legs can help make sure the pelvis is properly in line. A V shaped cushion can be used to support your growing bump at the same time. Full body pillows are also available. Get yourself lots of pillows and cushions to help get you comfortable.
When dressing sit down to avoid standing on one leg. Slip on shoes reduces the amount of bending you have to do.
Using a shower to wash may be easier to avoid climbing into the bath. A shower seat will make showering easier.
If you do use the bath, sit on the edge and swing your legs over together if you can, or step over carefully holding onto something to avoid putting weight on one leg. Use your arms to take a lot of your body weight when coming out of the bath. Try to bath when someone else is in the house so you can get help if you find it difficult getting out.
To get into the car start by sitting on the seat then lift your legs together into the car. A plastic bag on the seat can help you slide round easier (this can also work in bed).
A wheat bag or hot watch bottle on the groin area can help ease the pain but don't have it too hot or it could be uncomfortable for the baby. Post pregnancy you can have it as hot as you can stand it.:jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0 -
(((hugs))) to all those with spd seems awful, just hope I don't get it. I hope you get some type of relief soon.
I have an itchy red rash on my chest/neck think it may be a skin reaction to some chest rub I used as have a cold and then DH told me it was out of date (after I had used it), may have to go to docs if doesn't clear.
Thanks to who posted re the jeans, they arrived today unfortunately the 12 is too tight in the crotch area, but the 14 is nice and comfy. As have to pay postage back think will flog them on ebay.
I'm on hols next week too rach don't think will do much walking, going to cornwall so prob going to gorge on cream teas!!Thomas born 28/08/2010 weighing 5lbs and 4ounces, small but perfectly formed :j:j Now weighs 19lbs and 5 ounces

beckyandjack- no your not a wimp, I'm just an idiot who refuses to ask for help- my own stupid fault!
Does sound like my symptoms TBH, but I only have 7 weeks left so chances of me seeing a physio now don't seem great, and judging by what others say some don't seem to have helped anyway, I'll just carry on with the whole hobbling thing! Ahhh attractive- joy's of pregnancy!
Also had heartburn for the first time ever in my life this afternoon, it was horrible, now I know what all the fuss is about. I only had a salad roll too, which for me is pretty healthy, obviously I'm meant to stick to chocolate- haven't had a prob with it so farI managed to get rid of it with milk, but may be stocking up on gaviscon in case it makes a comeback!

had a big shock this morning, my blood sugar has been up & down (gestational diabetes) but this morning it read 15.4!!! most alarming, I'm at work now & am contemplating phoning nhs direct. must've been the mash potato again...
Luckily I'm due to have an anc appointment today anyway, but am going to get well  off with hubby who I know if I ask will not take the time off work to come with me... he seems to think it good enough that he actually has a day off next week for the next scan & midwife appointment... well if things aren't ok today, there might not be a next week mister!?!!0 -
thank God for google... I re-tested after washing my hands and it was 4.3, phew! hubby slightly off the hook, though the lack of concern / support was / is well annoying0

I was 3 weeks early last time, I'm "aiming" (because obviously you can do that:rotfl:) for this friday as OH doesn't get Paternity leave and this coming Monday is a bank holiday so will give him an extra day at home.
Big labour vibes for all those who would like them.Back on the MFW Wagon!
