I've seen it in stock most of the last few times i've been.. but I guess I've not been for the last couple of months as I've not been able to walk that far.. worth a try though I guess.. storage box type things always come in useful for this lot! .. might be a good one to keep at OH's mums too.. save lugging a box back and forth!

Hi MOTM - definitely not permanent! DH would have no objections but the mortgage man might! I have annual leave to take and then my maternity leave kicks in. Not sure how long to take off. We have some money saved by and we are hoping I can get a year off but if not then I'll go back when I need to!

This baby needs to remove its foot from my ribs!!!!

Ahhhhhhhhh. The beauties of owning my own home. I was poorish when I came here and this site and a bit of luck in life means I only come back for the parents thread and this one now OH is expecting.

I hope you can stay off as long as possible, for your sake and the babies. Take the annual leave, maternity leave and then take it from there. The extra luxuries (if any) you turn down is extra time off work. Keep telling yourself that ;)

Good luck with getting the baby to move from the ribs. Doesn't sound pleasant.

Just uncomfortable - baby will move eventually. it's a mover - never in the same position for too long! if it's not the foot up in there then it's the head and that is a worse for breathing properly. To be honest, I'm that thrilled to actually be having a baby (have had problems in the past) that I'll put up with anything. Sure, it's only temporary (that's what I keep telling myself anyway!)!!! Lol!!

Seriously grumpy today :( Not only do I have blood condition that I have to inject myself everyday, a dodgy liver of a unknown cause, I now have been diagnosed with SPD.
I'm only 14 weeks, I didn't think ladies suffered with this until later on. Doctor has referred me to the physio and given me a prescription for co-codamol which I don't really want to take!

I feel its going to be a very very long pregnancy :(, I'm now eating Haribo to cheer myself up!

Sarahangel, i can totally sympathise with you, i too have SPD and on crutches, have dodgy kidneys and bowel function and will have to inject myself after baby is born due to dodgy blood, and maybe in the last few weeks of pregnancy too.
    It sucks!!
14 weeks seems quite early to have SPD as far as im aware, there are people on here that have given me advice in the last day or two for SPD, so shout if your struggling, and i found it was just nice to have someone else who understands.
Haribo and chocolate are essential cheer up food :)

    Hi all,

It's been a few weeks since I've said hello - now in my 29th week and enjoying time at home preparing for birth (eating). Just trying to keep up with conversations: re newborn clothes, well, I've been given 3 binliners FULL of vests and b'grows and washed/laundered them all. Most are 0-3 months but some are tiny. I've a feeling he might be a chubster!

So...now I'm off work...the nursery is complete, clothing washed and put away, 2nd hand pram cleaned, just cot sheets to buy and wash. I'm a high risk pregnancy due to having two wombs - so might pack my bag nice and early just in case baby needs to come early. Ooo got some fab little outfits in Sainsbury's sale yesterday using my "Little Ones" club voucher. Most things were £2.

Also worth sharing there are some lovely BIG cellular cotton blankets in TKMaxx for £8, baby clothes in sale at Mothercare and Boots (loads of unisex) and I found ebay to have some great second hand equipment - saved me a fortune.
My boobs are leaking:eek: never had them leak before the birth in any of my pregnancies hope this mean i will have plenty of milk
Oh my gosh xmaslolly me too! Only a teeny bit usually when i sleep.

Looking forward to seeing how you're all getting on!
    Any other October mum's around?

  • Hi Bigbird, I'm due 2 days after you and I have been told each time that mine is measuring big for my dates too - how did you actually work it though?? Not sure I want to know if its above 7lb!!!! I'm scared as it is just thinking about that size coming out of my lady garden

I'm puzzled as I don't have a big bump either so not sure where it is hiding???
    *BigBird* wrote: »
Just back from the midwife. At the last appointment I was measuring a bit above the middle line on the growth chart. Now I'm measuring quite a way above the top line. Just done a rough calculation and if her measurements are right Flump's looking like an 11 pounder!!!:eek: I'm getting a bit worried now, especially since I won't be able to have an epidural. I can't squeeze out something that big!! :( Has anyone else measured big at this stage (28 weeks) but had the baby turn out not to be quite so big later on?

If the baby is that big, I really don't know where it's hiding since I don't think my bump is all that big. My friend is 2 1/2 weeks ahead of me and her bump is huge in comparison.

I'm thinking I'd better leave the tags on the newborn clothes though, as they might have to go back and be changed for a bigger size. Anyone know if John Lewis will exchange without a receipt?
