I've got a similar wedding issue Tinks, except it's my best friend's and she's getting married 4 days before I'm due (next weekend ). I don't mind if the baby is still bobbing around in its own private swimming pool on the inside or whether it's attached to baby in a sling but I must must must be there! I'm also gonna have to buy two outfits and leave the labels on until the morning of the wedding so I know which one to wear :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Looks to me that you have the perfect excuse to not go thoughUpdating soon...0

I have severe SPD too (although randomly seems to have got better since about 36 weeks
) and this random clicking and the clicking is deffo nothing to do with the SPD, it's a different sound and coming from a different place and also doesn't hurt.
Glad your SPD has gotten better Courgette, hope mine does as ive hit rock bottom with it at the moment and just feel useless!!
How far on are you? What medical help have you had? Other than the crutches, any other physical aids? Tell me what you do to alleviate symptoms and I'll see if there's anything I can help you withUpdating soon...0 -

Im 32 weeks at the moment, have seen a physio twice who has given me a few exercises to do, and given me some crutches, but basically said there is nothing else she can do until baby's born. She said to get as much rest as possible, which is hard when im still working.
Ive been wearing a support belt, but am finding its actually causing me to be in more pain, so i only wear it if i have to walk alot. I have been bouncing on an exercise ball which i find quite comfy but cant do it for too long. Im going up the stairs on all fours, but nighttime is just horrible, not sleeping for more than an hour and a half at a time before waking up in agony, my husband has moved into spare room as he is such a restless light sleeper and was getting no sleep!! when i wake up i have to get up and move around and do excersices to relieve the pain before i can attempt to lay down again.
Im off of work today as i did too much yesterday and hurt too much to move unless i have to.Baby No.1 due 27/9/10

Totally random question but anyone got any idea at all how much is would cost to get someone out to unblock our outside drain? We've tried doing it ourselves but it's not really shifting. Think next door must be proper mingers cos we've only had a problem since they moved in
A few years back I had an awful problem with my drains (:rotfl:) and actually found out after agessss that the council owned mine so they had to sort it:D Something to do with them being built before a certain year. Took lots of visits from the luuuuurvely drain men to get it all sorted. Turned out to be a problem with the sewers further down the road or something.
Anyway the moral of the story is check to see if it's a council matter before you pay someone.Um, thanks for thatThink it was Smartie or Fuzz talking about wee, I'm far too lady-like for such matters
Me of course:o;):p:D
I don't like being pregnant. My worrying is getting OTT:o DS went to stay at a friends last night and walked there. Haven't heard off him yet about when he's coming home so I have a vision of him not even being there cos he was abducted/got run over/lying in a ditch somewhere:eek: Think I'll give it a little while then totally embarrass myself (and him) by phoning the parents:o:rotfl:BLOWINGBUBBLES:kisses2: SMARTIE120 -

Now that is a close call!!! Good luck xoxo
I think DH is pleased that we will have the perfect reason to decline the invite ;-)If you can think it........it will happen0 -
Thanks Courgette...
Im 32 weeks at the moment, have seen a physio twice who has given me a few exercises to do,
What exercises? Mine told me to do all the pelvic floor ones, plus a hip tilt thing where you, er, basically push your fanny in and out, also lie flat on your back with legs together knees in the air feet on the ground and move your knees together from side to side (would be working your waist if we had one).
Have you worked out what hurts more than other things yet? For me, the main problem is walking and at it's worst I couldn't walk more than about 10 mins in 24 hours. Sitting down has never been a problem though so I've spent hours and hours on MSE :rotfl::rotfl:
and given me some crutches, but basically said there is nothing else she can do until baby's born.
Try Pelvic Partnership- they have an ace website. I also went to see a chiropractor who helped loads. Bloody good job cos I've spent a serious amount of money
She said to get as much rest as possible, which is hard when im still working.
It won't go away. If you need to take time off sick, do it. I had 5 weeks off and frustrating doesn't come close to describing how it felt. I'm a Secondary school teacher too and I missed the exam period for my yr11 and 6th form - I cannot explain how guilty I felt (and still do a little bit) about this but ultimately it's only a job and SPD pain is horrendous
Ive been wearing a support belt, but am finding its actually causing me to be in more pain, so i only wear it if i have to walk alot.
Right, so you've worked out that the belt doesn't help, good. That's one less thing to think about
I have been bouncing on an exercise ball which i find quite comfy but cant do it for too long. Im going up the stairs on all fours, but nighttime is just horrible, not sleeping for more than an hour and a half at a time before waking up in agony,
Are you tying your legs together? Use a dressing gown cord - it helps keep your pelvis still when you sleep. Are you using an painkillers? Paracetemol is fine, GP can prescribe something more if needed
my husband has moved into spare room as he is such a restless light sleeper and was getting no sleep!! when i wake up i have to get up and move around and do excersices to relieve the pain before i can attempt to lay down again.
Im off of work today as i did too much yesterday and hurt too much to move unless i have to.
You need to speak to your employer. If your working conditions are causing you more pain they have a legal duty to make alternative arrangements for you and if they can't they have to sign you off on full pay. As I said, I'm a teacher but I havn't set foot in a classroom since I was about 23 weeks when I first went off sick. I went back after 5 weeks and I was given a desk to work at near a loo, a water fountain and a fire exit and I stayed there til the end of term. Yes, it was boring but it did wonders for my mental health and not feeling like the SPD had beaten me
Are you using an ice-pack to soothe your bits too? The main thing to focus on though is not letting the pain build up as, as I'm sure you're aware, once it's there it takes ages to go away again
Hope that's some helpUpdating soon...0 -

Thanks, although I can't really imagine why it wouldn't be us responsible as they're in our back garden about 15feet in from the back gate. We've put loads of caustic soda down which is helping but just not that quickly as it's a shared drain used for all water except sewerage for 2 houses so it's got a lot to cope with. I think if I wasn't 38+weeks pg and planning a homebirth I wouldn't be so worried and would just buy loads of bottles of caustic soda and hope it cleared eventually it's just the hygiene issue is worrying me (not to mention it stinks and breathing through my mouth to stop from gagging hasn't been a feature of my ideal birth visualisation :rotfl:).
How did you actually establish it was the council's problem not yours?Updating soon...0 -
MLSL: I so hope things happen for me this weekend too, sending lots of *labour vibes* your way. I'm feeling incredibly fed up, sick of txts, facebook pms, etc asking if I'm 'still in one piece'. Decided today I can't be bothered with trying to evict, I've put my ball, clary sage, etc away and I'm going to try forget I'm pregnant. The crying fit I just had doesn't really help though! OH finally got up and said it's too late to go to my mums, I was waiting for the lazy so and so to get out if bed! So day at home0

My drain (manhole cover) is right by back door in our yard and is still the council's responsibilty;)
I can't quite remember how I found out. I think as I had problem after problem even after clearing it with drain rods etc I phoned environmental health who sent someone who looked at old plans of the sewer system. The system was dated at being built many many years ago. If you have "modern" sewers/drains and it's on your property then sadly I do think it's your responsibilty.
The things discussed on this thread!!!:rotfl:BLOWINGBUBBLES:kisses2: SMARTIE120
