Courgette this probably won't help, but when our sinks are blocked we use household salt and bicarbonate of soda poured down plug hole, then pour White vinegar and then hot water after. It fizzes like hell and does bring some stuff back up but it soon clears the drains and everything goes down so fast after. Might be worth a shot?! Or not!!0

You need to speak to your employer. If your working conditions are causing you more pain they have a legal duty to make alternative arrangements for you and if they can't they have to sign you off on full pay. As I said, I'm a teacher but I havn't set foot in a classroom since I was about 23 weeks when I first went off sick. I went back after 5 weeks and I was given a desk to work at near a loo, a water fountain and a fire exit and I stayed there til the end of term. Yes, it was boring but it did wonders for my mental health and not feeling like the SPD had beaten me
Are you using an ice-pack to soothe your bits too? The main thing to focus on though is not letting the pain build up as, as I'm sure you're aware, once it's there it takes ages to go away again
Hope that's some help
Thanks courgette, thats alot of help, and really nice to know that someone else knows what it feels like. I feel like most people are thinking 'your just pregnant deal with it!!' Including my family!!
I will try tying my legs together and the ice pack, thanks. The excercises that i was given sound the same as you.
I think its walking, even on the crutches and bending down alot that cause me most pain, I just really struggled trying to put the washing in the machine and picking something up from the kitchen floor. I havent done any house work in weeks!!
I have a grand total of 5 days left at work, as i have lots of leave to take, so planning on doing a day or 2 next week to finish bits off and then if i need to i will go off sick.
I hope yours continues to feel better xx:)Baby No.1 due 27/9/10

My drain (manhole cover) is right by back door in our yard and is still the council's responsibilty;)
I can't quite remember how I found out. I think as I had problem after problem even after clearing it with drain rods etc I phoned environmental health who sent someone who looked at old plans of the sewer system. The system was dated at being built many many years ago. If you have "modern" sewers/drains and it's on your property then sadly I do think it's your responsibilty.
The things discussed on this thread!!!:rotfl:
Hmmm, our house was built in 1935 and tbh it's not really been too much of an issue before now, just every now and then they get a bit smelly but only a normal amount i think. I think we'll spend the weekend pouring caustic soda down and see where we are on mondayUpdating soon...0 -

Trouble is we've started on the caustic soda now and the two might react. It's not a problme to keep using - it's £1.74 in Wilko's for enough for 5 treatments it's just the smell that's starting to get on my nerves, plus I am worried for the baby (not for me, I'm tough as old boots in that way)Updating soon...0 -
Just when I am having a bad day I think my boss hates me
:( ever since I told him I said PG he has made me feel pants.
I dread coming into work. Sometimes I think it is all in my head:o and that I am being totally paranoid. But it hasn't changed how he makes me feel. Just wish I could curl up under my desk.:o:o
If you can think it........it will happen0 -

My brother actually thought I was lying when I had to phone the house from the car just outside to get some help to go in!

Then don't. Hubby/partner can do the housework. Anything I drop in this house stays there until someone else can pick it up for me!

You may find you feel much much better once you're off work. Worst case scenario is that you have 8 more weeks of this, that is not a lot in the course of your life and you will have a lovely little baby at the end of it (*ducks, just in case that's been said once too often*)

Fuzz (I think!) it took ages to get the letter. It's not actually in my account yet, will probably go in on fri/sat when my tax credits do!
Bed
If it stays below £70 I will get it as I can do that even without the hipg going in, if it doesn't I'll play it by earIf it's more than £100 it's not worth it for second hand, and I'll use more of the Hipg and buy her a new one.
Her room is 7ft by 6ftso not much you can do in there! If she had one of those I could do away with her wardrobe etc and she'd have much more space.
Oh! Re: odd things that get discussed on MSE, Does vacuum packing a large dead dog in JML vac bags count?! That thread was mental!Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

Courgette one of our drains keeps backing up they are way to small to cope with the amount of carp that comes off the houses round here. The landlord paid dyno rod the first time and they charged about £150 i think it was after that he took out some kind of household policy with british gas £15 a month and we can call them any time to unblock it.
To be honest i had tried all sorts to unblock it myself before calling him but nothing would shift it as the blockage was further down than the chemicals could reach to be effective.
Did you mention that it has only been happening since new neighbours moved in or was that someone else? You will probably find they are flushing wipes or kitchen roll down the loo:jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0 -

£150  That's what the guy at the council said it'd be about too  It makes me wonder why I scrimp and save all the time to be honest if I'm then having to shell out that sort of money to clear some gunk out of a hole  If I could bend over I'd get my marigolds out and do it myself :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
If you leave it for ages it does clear which obv means it's not totally blocked. I think we'll give it a go with truck loads of caustic soda for the next few days and see how it goes. Think now might be a good time to ditch the eco-friendly washing up liquid though, hardly seems any pointUpdating soon...0
