    hello ladies!

    had a bit of a crap night last night. woke up at 3am with a horribly sore stomach i acutally thought i was in labour:eek: i just kept getting these big mad pains but they werent what i thought contractions would feel like! anyhow i started trying to time them etc (which is quiet hard when your in pain - didnt realise that) so it went on for about an hour. turns out it was just really bad wind :mad: all i can say is thank god i didnt go to hosptal HOW embarrasing would that have been :rotfl:

    im coming on here as a distraction from next.co.uk they have some lovely boys stuff just in but i cant really justify the price :( im sooo stingy lol! but seriously for the amount of wear the baby is going to get out of it theres no point!

    the antenatal class i went to the other night ended up being quiet good (except for the boring physio bit)

    do any of you remember me having a bit of a freak out because we were told that if we had a normal labour we would be sent home within 6 hours? well they told us the other night that the reason for this was because of the shortage of midwives. they operate a one-on-one midwife when you are in labour, so that means you stay with the same midwife the whole time. but they said due to shortages the only way to keep this in operation was to close some of the postnatal wards! so now they have 2 - one of which is private so really they only have one.

    im starting to think of all the options RE pain relief now the time is coming closer. i never knew that if you had an epidural you had to stay on the bed ( i know how stupid am i?! i just never thought about it properly!) so im wondering if any more experienced ladies could tell me if it is worth it? my mum is dead set against it, she said it made it more difficult as she couldnt feel herself pushing.

    Ymakes its the same at the hospital im registered with its ten days over for induction yet every other hospital in the region its 14 go figure.

    Edit: good luck for tomorrow quick and easy labour vibes for you x

    Aww Rach ((hugs)) i know its the last thing you need right now but the poor bloke must be frightened to death glad you managed to talk about it and hopefully he will calm down now. I think with all the crap we put up with in pregnancy we sometimes forget the OH's are probably just as worried if not more so than we are as they are kind of on the outside looking in so to speak we get to bond with baby the whole way through and be reassured by the midwives they get non of that until bean is placed in their arms.

    Dream some places do mobile epidurals but i think they are few and far between. I've never had one myself but have had mixed reviews from friends that have varying from its fabulous i didnt feel a thing to similar to what you mom said that it makes it more difficult and they felt out of control. I think the only thing you can do is go with the flow and choose what you need when you are going through it just dont leave it to long as i did with the first i had been in labour for over 70hrs and screamed i had had enough and wanted the Epi by the time the anethatist showed up he tried for 5 mins to put it in but DD wanted to come out so had to be abandoned and i just got on with it :-(

    I had a bodged epidural and had to lie down for 4 days (with crucifying headaches like my head would explode if I even sat up) and have my blood put in my spine to sort it out.

    Probably best if you can avoid it!

    I feel more sane now after my good cry, thanks for the hugs SirM! The thing that stopped me crying was actually falling asleep! OH found it hilarious and enjoyed telling my mum when she phoned! He has just put up the canopy over the cot and it looks really sweet :) bubs won't be in cot for ages but I think he did it to cheer me up.
    I think my belly button is starting to pop out :eek: it looks horrible.

    If they're not hugely painful just get a dollop of vaseline and pop them back in!

    Saves the embarrassing chemist trip:rotfl::rotfl:

    Is that Russells Hall? The Manor has a 10 day system in place too... I went 9 days over last time and they made no move to book me in for induction, my midwife appointment was booked for 10days over and she was threatening to sweep me... But then my midwife is a a wet blanket... I won't be induced anything less than 14days... Unless there was a danger obviously... Ideally I'd go to 21... But then I really really want this one to be a couple of weeks early lol...
    A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
    Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.
