Thanks PP :) I will let the health visitor into my house but I will keep an open mind about her suggestions. I'm more worried about the cleaniliness of my house so will probably clean like a mad thing even though it really isn't that bad. OH isn't here that day, lucky so and so!

Just had to order 3 lots of net curtains, personally not my thing but the amount of ppl who keep looking through our windows is getting a joke. We live in middle of no where but I swear our house must be a landmark on a tour guide as there was about 30 people looking through our window yesterday. I was there in my pjs! So nets it is!!!

Don't worry, men are welcome too :D we already have Bufger, and I'm sure he is a super-dad-to-be now because he now knows exactly what not to do to annoy his gf :D

ETA: To not annoy his gf. You and he are in the unique position of knowing what we all moan about when you guys aren't usually about :rotfl:

It sounds silly, but does a ladies personality matter in this instance. I mean, the mothers of my girls were both.....moody, uptight people anyway, whereas current partner is laid back and very nice! I can't imagine her moody and moany :rotfl:

Congratulations MOTM - Babycentre is good and will send you a weekly email through your pregnancy. I think it has a dads-to-be section too.

I will check it out. Thanks :)
Motm can i recommend a book its called Pregnancy for men "the whole nine months" it is very whitty and i recommend your OH reads it to its full of information but is a very light read rather than the million one books out there that try to lay down the law and just end up confusing us poor women & men. I'm on my fourth pregnancy now and even i managed to learn something from it.

Congratulations and i hope she has an easy smooth pregnancy :-) x

I will look for the book online and see where I can get a copy. Thanks :)

Prgenancy does strange things to women even the most meek and feable of us can turn into monsters or blubbering messes once the hormones hit. Your OH may not be full on with her mood swings due to her laid back temperament but you will probably notice a difference, mind you with all thoughs females in your life you should be able to cope there cant be much you haven't witnessed :-)

    morning everyone x

kitkat we have nets for the first time ever but it is essential in this house with the lounge at the front and just a lawn for the front garden. Sometimes next doors kids play across the gardens too, not often and mostly just the little un but then an adult will walk right passed the window to get him - I don't mind our kids do the same. Although we did ask if he could not park his shiney crome hire car right outside because the sun was shining off it, very distracting, only lighthearted mind - we just close the curtains a bit early.

My HV with both DD and DS were really good. The HV with DD visited every week for the first 3 months to weigh her and I thought this was normal her being my first but realised later that it wasn't and was only because of the amount of weight she lost whilst I tried breastfeeding her. I rarely saw one after DS compared with DD. At his yearly check I was told he was quite advanced for his age, think he has slowed down a bit now but still thinks he is as old as DD with them being so close and he did things like potty training early really easy because all he ever had to do was copy DD. They have never really offered me any advice and I've never really had any questions for them. I took DD to the drop in centre at 2 and said she had speech problems but they said she was still a bit young they may refer her at her 2 and a half check up - I asked if she would deffo get this as I had to fight for all her injections etc after we moved when she was 5 months and she seemed to drop off the radar, they assured me she would and made a note of it. She didn't have a check up but by that time I was less worried as she was speaking, however when she started preschool she was referred for speech therapy straight away and is all caught up now. I've never had a HV come round before the birth though, probably just an introduction. I don't really see why anyone is shocked you are still working, if you haven't had any complications and aren't doing a very strenuous job then whats wrong with it. I worked up to the week before my c-section with DS and my SIL worked up to due date and was back the 2 weeks after the birth with both of hers (she is a bit of a workaholic though).

I have just 2 more nights at work then 2 weeks off yay. Need to drop my car up to the garage we bought it from a month ago because its leaking oil. They said its half a days work so I should have it back in time for work but its stressing me a bit. If they need to order a part it could take longer. Plus when I drop it off I'll have to walk a mile home with the kids, the first part either crossing a busy 40mph road or walking along the grass verge till the path starts. I didn't mind doing that on my own but the boy is scary and it'll have to be single file, there is a curb so its more a grass path but still. Also means another day at home with the kids, was going to take them to the library today. Then I need to pick it up later so another trek up to the garage, and at some stage fit in cooking dinner, eating it and getting ready for work. I hate doing things on the days I'm working.

OH just text me to say he is gonna fix the car yay. It needs a new rocker cover gasket or something and he thinks the garage are just gonna bodge it and he'll do it properly it's also gonna be alot easier for me so although the garage should do it it's alot less stress for us to just sort it out ourselves. TBH OH will probably enjoy the time in the garage lol.

Man on the moon my husband has relied on my knowledge so far as experience as a nurse and as a maternity night nanny apparently makes me the expert!! Although he did say the other night oh if I am going to do the 10/11pm feed you best show me what to do - no he didnt think that up himself some discussion had taken place at work.

Have taught him difference between babygros and vests at last.
However he does do lots around the house when I was feeling so sick for first 15wks he did everything inc cook and didnt moan when I didnt eat it after time cooking what I asked for. he still does lots without being asked as well.

Morning all, hope everyone's well today.

Wish us luck, we have MIL on her way over for the day to help. I love her to bits but she drives me mad! DS won't walk anywhere all day, or feed himself, or in fact do anything for himself - how she brought up 3 boisterous boys is beyond me:rotfl:
