Hope everyones ok. I'm having a pj day and it's lovely
not even brushed my hair! I have washed though just changed straight into pjs! So lazy!
Smartie: not sure about loosing your plug, could be one of many as Xmas says or signs of things kicking off! I thought I had started loosing mine 2 weeks ago but nothing since, my BH have also calmed down completely, bet this is a sign I'm in it for the long haul which is a pain as I'm so uncomfy
Hope pigpen is ok.
Lovely bump pics ladiesXmas your black bits made me giggle!

courgette - glad you enjoyed the night out, even if you're suffering today! I am going to Dr on wed, something isn't right. My mum is on about acupuncture and chiro..have you tried these and did they help?
pigpen's around I think, just having a break from posting for a few days.
hope smartie's getting on ok.
Had a crap morning and better aft! Does anyone wake up, get up and feel fine and then after an hour feel exhausted again? Every day I feel exactly that! So I decided to go swimming, which was a disaster as after waiting for 15 minutes for a bus there (couldn't manage the walk), they wouldn't accept a card payment under £5...and it costs bl0ody £4.70 for a swim...what a rip off, it's just a council pool and isn't that nice at all or even particularly clean! Think if we move nearer one we'll join a proper gym again. It's one of those boroughs which has contracted out it's leisure...and the pool is only open 2 evenings a week because as the lady said to me when I was thinking about joining 'we can make more money hiring it out for swimming lessons and canoeing'. Great, some public service then. The borough I actually live in, where the pools are further away from me only costs £3.30.
Being an emotional wreck this weekend I just meekly walked out, then ended up in floods of tears at the bus stop, literally howling (so embarrassing and not like me at all!). One lady even wound down her car window to ask if I was ok. I can't sit comfortably on those bus shelter perch things so ended up sitting on the ground! I could've got cash and gone back but just came home and had a bath instead. Anyway, am ok now, had nice lunch out and then came home and played a board game with DH, then went to bedfirst time I've really been into it since getting pg though we've still been having sex regularly. Just relaxing now.
Sorry for the moanMum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
has anyone looked at the Asda baby event stuff? Bit poor I thought. Might get the johnsons box but it doesn't say what's in it!Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0

Aww Rach I wouldnt worry about crying, its normal in pregnancy, I often feel better just having a good cry! I dont cry v often, but when I do its over something pointless and then I feel loads better later! I also thought Asda baby event was a bit poor, I dont think we're buying anything else for the baby until their born, well bar the nappy bin! Been looking around at reuseables, still not sure. We have a few disposables for 1st couple of weeks but might consider reuseables, if its cheaper and also greener I might be converted! They're so expensive though!!! The 2 freebies I have retail for about £9-10 per nappy!0

kitkat there are loads of really good reusable deals on ebay at the moment, some new stuff if you don't want used. I think a lot of people buy them and then don't use them!
Thanks re the crying, I am just so mad that such a lot of mention is made of staying fit and yet there's no help available... there seem to be no aqua natal classes around here (i have just emailed both local boroughs to double check, and the one i work in), the pools are hardly open outside of work hours and then are so expensive...I wonder what I pay over a grand a year in council tax for!?Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
Guten Tag meine Freunde.
How is Everyone today?
I've been looking through online birth bag lists and came across Arnica Tablets. Is anyone going to take these after they give birth? If so what are the good and bad points?
Fingers crossed for pigpen
Hope the appointment went ok SmartieWhat's yours is mine and what's mine is mine..0 -
Thanks Rach I will try ebay, I am looking at these all in 1 nappies, is there any you would recommend?? I am really not sure!
I get annoyed with my council, I'll admit there is aquanatal about 7 miles away from me, but theres always hundreds of others in the pool espec now its school holidays, plus I have a allergy to chlorine so cant go in the pool unless they leave it untreated.. which I wouldnt want in my area!!! Our nappy incentive scheme is 1 free nappy! No cash back at all!! Its not fair!! Plus theres no antenatal classes, rubbish medical care; basically any problem you have they say 'sorry we have no funding in that treatment' lol.
EDIT: Nene: I have bought Arnica pillules to use for healing, I have heard they are brilliant but sorry no experience of them myself. I know a lot of homeopaths recommend them for healing and I dont think there is any side effects? There is a recommended daily doseage and I have heard it does no harm if you go over.0 -
Rach the johnsons box is ok but if its the white one they are only sample sizes in it hense why its so cheap if you buy the purple one you get full size products :-)
Nene i have arnica tabs used them last time and i did seem to heal alot quicker you need to start taking them before the birth obviously if you know you will pop early then start taking then early but if not just start taking 3 days before your due date and continue until the birth. You cannot overdose on arnica so its not going to do you any harm at all.
Arnica Tabs 30c 2 tablets 3 times a day – 3 days before
30c 2 tablets every 2 hours – up to 6 doses
30c 2 tablets 3 times a day – 5 days after:jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0 -
Do you know if you're meant to start taking them weeks before you give birth or just start after you give birth?
I feel like such a druggie sometimes. I have 3 tablets to take in the morning already.
EDIT: thanks xmas. Does it affect breastfeeding at all do you know? What's yours is mine and what's mine is mine..0 -
I'm no nappy expert kitkat, but I've heard a lot of positive things about a two part system, a shaped nappy which fits with either velcro or a nappy nippa, and then a wrap to go over the top. Try using the nappy lady advice service (you don't have to buy from them but it will give you an idea what to look for). The other thing I've heard is that rather than investing in a whole system buy a few different types and see what works.
https://www.clothnappytree.com and https://www.naturalmamas.co.uk have some really helpful people on too
We get nothing here from the council, the real nappy network have got some funding to give people a £30 voucher but the council do zilch!
I ahve remembered there's one aqua class I can possibly get to, quite a way away and 6.30 on a Monday so I'd have to go from work, but I might give it a try next week. Would be 2 buses home so a bit of a long day but gotta be worth a try!Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0
